Vegas odds: Saints favored in 12 of their first 15 games (1 Viewer)

I find it hard to believe that the Broncos are favored against the Saints considering the fact that they barely won their division last year at 8/8 and are obviously going to have a lot of growing pains, especially with questions about Peyton Manning's health as well. Is a less than 100% Peyton manning really worth the 5 win difference they had with the Saints last year? I'm also chuckling at the Giants being favored against New Orleans as well. The Saints DESTROYED the Giants last year, but no one seems to remember that. The Giants were literally THANKFUL that they got to play SF instead of New Orleans in the NFC Championship... Oh well, at least Vegas is smart enough to realize that the Saints will be looking for revenge on SF when they come to the dome this season. And I guess I can deal with the fact that the general public thinks New Orleans will lose to GB in Lambeau, since it happened last year.

I happened to be on my way to Vegas when the suspensions were announced and the Saints went from 10 to 1 to 12 to 1 to win the Super Bowl so I had to:

I just checked and looks like they are back down to 10 to 1 :cheer:

Just proves how the whole bounty-gate thing was blown out of proportion. We'll still win the South, and be Super Bowl contenders.
But I'd like to see how many games Vegas is predicting the Falcons to lose.

Yes, dont discount what you "think" will happen because youre further from reality. The giants will have payback in their house for how we stomped them I think. Look at how we embarrassed the cowgirls 41-7 in our house then the following yr, they stomped a mudhole in us. Same principle. Im looking at us 9-7 or so. We "might" get 10-6, but thats a little reach. Dont expect anything better than a 10-6 record IMO. Those spreads are insane right now. 1pt favorites, 2.5pts at Atlanta but 5.5 at home? vs raiders 3pts? As bad as they are my money allday long on the Raiders. Denver IF Manning plays we lose.Remember, we beat him in the SB. Considering hes the posterboy for NFL, we not beating him again. Its also away. Denver will be a good team.

Looks like the dirty birds are underdogs in 6 games with another even $ out of the 15 lines posted

Where can I place a bet on the saints to win the superbowl without going to las vagas? Thanks.

Peyton Manning looking to buck trend of old QBs underwhelming on new teams - Kerry J. Byrne - SI.com

Don't discount historical trends just because you think you know better than what someone else thinks they know.

I'm not saying Peyton is bad... I'm saying its not likely he'll be at full strength and I highly doubt his team will be rolling on all cylinders after half a season. Their defense is good, but its not amazing... and we all know the spread is what it is not because of faith in the Broncos against the Saints Offense, its because of the lack of faith in the Saints defense against Peyton manning. Putting all your eggs into an older FA quarterback is historically a bad idea, and its obvious that the Broncos are completely revamping the offensive side of the ball to help fit Peyton's scheme. You really think they'll have it all together in less than one year? The Saints are a veteran team. The broncos bringing in one banged up veteran does not make them an experienced team, overall.... I'd take the Saints in every single game this coming year except against the Packers and possibly the Giants (for the revenge factor you mentioned) but there is no way in hell they lose to the Broncos.

For those who do not know, Vegas lines are based on how they predict how people will bet, not necessarily on who is going to win.

If you would take the Raiders "ALL DAY LONG", I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving me 5-1 odds then? I'll bet you $100 we win that game. We can both paypal the money to Andrus. :)

Oh I know.

The Giants really were not that great of a team, just luck and the refs helping them out bit is what got a 9-7 team to the Super Bowl and ultimately winning it against an aged, overrated team that had ref help against Baltimore to get there. I won't say that we got screwed out of San Francisco. 0 calls on the Saints, proves that. We had the help but the turnovers ultimately killed our chances to win.

The Broncos are only favored cause of Manning. The NFL also gave them the most night games, proving once again how Manning is their golden (Like 4 MVPs is not enough) but I seriously doubt Denver will be all that great. They have a tough schedule, and Peyton don't have an all star wide receiver lineup. Everyone seems to forget how bad he looked with the Colts in 2010 when he was missing wide receiver, he threw 4 INTs in 2 games where he didn't have Wayne, Garcon, Clark, or Collie.

But also the run game. That running game with Denver last year was only a benefit from having a bad quarterback. That rushing attack will disappear when Peyton is forcing it out 40 times a game.

The week of the game talk to me and I'll let you know if I take up your offer.
