Was this game more personal after Winston got hurt? (2 Viewers)

Is it Kiko Alonso on Joe Flacco dirty? No. Was it a bad angle to take Winston down on? Yes. That’s why it was a penalty.

Yes it was a bad angle, but a bad angle is not necessarily dirty, and again, the reason why the ref called a horse collar is that they expanded the rule. You can see in the image below that the TB player is pulling Winston from the sleeve, below below Winston's name plate, and not even down, but to the side.

There were plenty of cheap shots given, but this one wasn't one of them.

I take it you didnt see that no-call obvious dirty hit Suh made on Siemen later in the 2nd quarter where he hit him 4-5 seconds after he'd thrown the ball, or where Gholston lost his cool, after losing his helmet, and cloberring Siemen very, very late in the ribs to give us another set of downs after Tampa had intercepted his pass in the endzone and we proceeded to score a TD.

Why is it so hard for you to stay on topic? And what part of "there were plenty of cheap shots given, but that wasn't one of them" isn't clear to you?

I was livid from that point on. It definitely ignited something in the team as well.

We don't have a large sample size, but typically we can write off games where the QB gets hurt. But today, they never backed down.

The topic, System, from my perspective, was a bit broader and involved more obvious, dirty plays done by Bucs players against Siemen and others from the 2nd quarter onwards that I think prove my points better from a bigger perspective.

But, I'll be completely honest with you right now and its that I'm not particularly happy. I'm not in a very good mood because a man Ive grown to respect, who worked, trained and prepared his arse off tirelessly may have just had his season ended by defensive players on a team I loathe and have little respect for. Jameis, God Bless him, he worked so hard last year and during training camp, preseason, and during the regular-season, to re-surrect his career, learn a complex new offensive system, and he seemed to have turned that corner..finally.

Until, that horse collar penalty possibly may have ended his season. And I see and witness some of those Bucs players smiling and jumping around, pointing their fingers in the chests of some of our players, taunting them on occasion, getting called for dirty, questionable late-hits, shaking their arses around like its no big deal, somehow.

That behavioral perception bothered me. I know it shouldn't and I should be more considerate in that we won the game, and mostly I am. But Jameis' injury at this point in the regular-season after working, training, studying so hard to get close to where he was.2-3 years ago, it hurts me that he's injured.

I wanted this win when Jameis was upright, but when that dirt bag took him out of the game, I wanted blood.

This win meant more than a typical division win.
Dirt bag? That was not a malicious play, he grabbed his jersey to pull him down and Winston foot was planted and buckled.

Saints vs Bucs always play each other tough even when Winston was the Bucs QB.

I would have used terser words, but I’m not looking to get banned after a win.

Those were the two plays I had the biggest problem with. I understand trying to rattle a QB coming in cold like that, but that was nothing but dirty *** playing. Especially the one Siemian got blasted from behind long after he threw the ball.

There is a reason you can't tackle like that. It hurts people and the players know it. Devin White is a dirty player. Last season he speared Kamra straight to the head in our game in Tampa. He targeted Deonte in the playoffs and put him out of the game, He rode Kamara to the ground out of bounds today ,horse collar from behind trying to land on his legs. He got a taunting penalty after he speared Ingram on the ground. He knows exactly wht he is doing. I'm glad every recap from this game they call his name when they say Winston was injured on a illegal horse collar tackle by DEVIN WHITE. He deserves every bit of the scrutiny he's got coming his way

This one meant a hell of a lot. Can’t tell you the last time I was this fired up, man. This one meant so much! They got away with a lot early! To me, it lead to them taking liberty on the horse collar.

Those calls evened out so can’t be mad about that. Ultimately, the emotion of it all was something not felt in a long time.

This one meant more than the win. I’m glad we got it. I told my dad, if we lose every other game this year, don’t matter as long as we won this one! Emotionally, enough has been enough this year.

Against it all, Siemien looked poised, Ingram brought energy, the Defence played great, ups and downs, good plays and bad (even some bad play call by Payton ) we played with a major purpose!

That can’t be understated! Emotion, Passion, Purpose! Can’t be understated!

Top 5 win in Saints History in my mind.

That particular play wasn't dirty itself but White has a history of headhunting and dirty, malicious plays.

I don't know what it is about LBs wearing numbers in the 40s but they all seem to be out there trying to hurt people.

It’s surely the only time I can remember a Saints third-string QB winning one this big against a major contender? I’ve been watching this team since age 7 in the early ‘80s. I’m having to go back to Guido Merkens in the 1992 strike year…but I don’t they won the game, though.

It wasn't a dirty play, or a play in which the defensive player intended to hurt Winston. The reason why the flag was thrown is because the definition of a horse collar has expanded way beyond the collar. Someone will probably post a picture, but the defender grabbed the side of the back pad below the shoulder pads. At any other angle, nothing happens to Winston.
Textbook example of why this rule exists. How many players have torn up their knees because of horse collar tackles?
