I'd like to stay below $500, and I know that severely limits the selection.. I figure there are still some nice options available at that price though..

Find a jewelry store that's going out of business. That's the only way that they can sell below the manufacturer's set price. I got a Longines that was $2600 for $650 about a year and a half ago that way.

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive that my wife got me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I think she paid around $400.00 for it. I know the website says $475.00 but I'm sure you can get it cheaper.

Citizen Eco-Drive. I have a stainless chronograph. And I absolutely love it.

And yes, I did buy it from JC Penney, and yes it is a real Citizen. YMMV, but I managed to haggle the price down to $180.00.

Fossil or Guess have nice watches for about $100... If you want a sporty watch Casio G-Shocks are cool for about $130

You can find a Tag for around $550 - 600. Just depends if you want stainless steel or leather band and style of watch.

I dont wear a Tag, but I think that will be my next watch.
