They absolutely laid down, what are you talking about? They can take kneeldowns and go to the locker room. Instead they decide to run a play to help get Mike a catch and 5 more yards. There's no universe where he should even be allowed off of the line of scrimmage let alone just left in single coverage. It's lame.
