We just willingly let MIKE EVANS go into the record book versus us? (11 Viewers)

Who cares, season is over. It's off-season time baby

It really doesn’t matter - especially to the players.

It’s a personal accolade that made him a lot of money. All these players are typically friendly to one another once game is over - so as much of a d-bag Evans is… the Saints players are ok to see him get his milestone and get paid because at the end of the day it’s a business.

It’s strange as fans because we want the players to harbor the same ill-will towards our rivals but they just don’t.

Not only did that soft mfer need an extra game to break the record, he needed his team to throw the ball in a kneel down situation, and he needed his soft division rival opponent to concede it.

I don’t want to see a single familiar face back on defense next season after watching that. Get out

The Saints owe Jerry Rice and Saints fans an apology

LOL....Shanle leaving out how he was part of a historically bad 2012 defense that did, in fact, set some futility records back then.

So is today's lesson: you can be terrible overall, but never be so terrible as to allow one man to get a record?

PS..... I've got not one thing against Shanle, he played for the Saints during an overall great stretch. Just not understanding the cherry picking of this one thing to get so angry about. Everybody's all 'they should have had the entire team covering him".....but the Bucs could have just called one of those backfield tap passes for him, and with proper blocking he would have gotten it anyway.

But Payton would have put 4 guys on Evans. Let some other Bucs player score. Get the ball back and instruct his QB to kneel. Dude is petty AF. 😂

With you 100%. If the Bucs are foolish enough to risk injury, and an interception or fumble that could lose them the game and cost them a playoff berth, then make them pay. Put 11 guys on Evans, I don’t care if the score a 70yrd TD to any other player, but you don’t just lay down and let Evans of all people get that record against you.
As you said that's the only place the ball was going, so that was our only chance to affect the game and get a touchdown by intercepting. It just made no sense to allow that.

In 3 years the culture of this team has gone from being schoolyard bullies to weakling getting bullied.

Pathetic and unacceptable.
When it was us we got no such respect, I remember people complaining about when Brees broke Marino’s record then complained more when he played the season finale. People complained when he went for it in 2008, too. And they gloated in 2018.

The rest of the NFL fandom doesn’t want to see this franchise ever be good or strong.
