We just willingly let MIKE EVANS go into the record book versus us? (16 Viewers)

Bucs fans on here watching a bunch of grown men seething and crying behind their keyboards about an irrelevant play must be at an all time high.

I know I would be.

You might as well be ;)

Mike is such a good guy! One of the greats! Yay, so happy for him and his accomplishments ❤️

We see you buddy!!

"You're not crying behind your keyboard over a lost season and a play that was completely irrelevant??? YoUrE nOt A tRuE FaN"

I was wondering whether we would put three defensive backs on him and maul him at the line.

What kind of soft behavior is this? We're that much of a nice guy team that we're letting rivals just casually go out and feed someone a catch to chase a record? How are we doing anything but putting our entire defense on him?

I don't care about his bonus and I don't care about his record. That's actually disgusting that we didn't deny that catch.

With shorter length seasons.

The game inflation to 17 makes those season high records almost meaningless when comparing them to past seasons.

He only played in 13.5 games this season due to the ACL injury so he still easily would have hit that if the season was only 16 games. Evans has missed at least one game a year for a good portion of his career so if anything he’s doing it in under 16 games most years since the 17 game season just recently became a thing.

Not only did that soft mfer need an extra game to break the record, he needed his team to throw the ball in a kneel down situation, and he needed his soft division rival opponent to concede it.

I don’t want to see a single familiar face back on defense next season after watching that. Get out

The Saints owe Jerry Rice and Saints fans an apology
Evans played nowhere near 17 games this season so that’s an irrelevant argument, lol. If he plays a full 17 he’s hitting 1,300+ yards easily.

Yeah, that's immediately who I thought of. He's not quite Roddy White level of hate for me, but damn near close.
As a young Saints fan speaking, is Roddy White the most hated player in Saints fandom? I'm only 25 going on 26, so I don't know too much history. One of my guesses is Deion Sanders.

We did kind of let that happen by just lining up but a couple of things on it. The level of hate just isn’t there vs. the Bucs. Sure their division rivals but it’s not like it was the falcons. Second, when your a bad team this is the kind of stuff that happens to you. Lastly, our coaches are likely all out of jobs in the next couple of days being a jerk to a potential employer just isn’t a good look .

It was all about circumstance for me. The game is over and they're telling you they're going to throw a quick pass to Mike Evans, and we don't even show any fight to stop it. Not even going to double him? Not even going to try and jump the route? It's a 1 score game after all. They're saying they're going to risk their playoff lives by trying to get their guy into the record book and to get him his bonus, and we put up zero fight versus a dude who has been one of the biggest heels toward this team of anyone since Roddy White retired.
But this is exactly what the players don’t care about. There’s not really anyone left of this team from those intense Evans/Lattimore games. Latt is gone. Marcus Williams is gone. Jenkins is gone. PJ Williams is gone and the list goes on and on. So that “rivalry” exists only in the heads of the fans. The players don’t care about that stuff. These are brothers in the NFL Fraternity and with the way the rosters shift around via free agency, maybe even one day teammates.

They were running the defense that was called and we didn’t stop the play.

Same as when Drew Brees played every snap in two blowouts at the end of the 2011 season while attempting to collects records and get his teammates to individual accolades. The opposing defenses didn’t stop it. Such is life.

I’m actually really glad it happened. Why not have all the bad things happen this season? Just pile them on so that fans will pressure Loomis to wake up and put the work in needed to fix this mess.

But again, this milestone only bothers the fans and I guarantee you there were just as many Saints congratulating Evans as Bucs after the game.

Cool now every highlight and sports article has Mike Evans getting the record on the Saints. Thought we got rid of the cucked energy when we fired Allen. Not like the game was out of reach, a pick 6 ties it.

It's going to be like Beastquake, we'll be seeing this highlight until someone else breaks the record.
