The Saints beat arguably the worst team in the NFL and now people think they can hang against the 9ers... come on.

The Saints O had not scored 20 points in 22 games.
The 9ers have 1 loss since October 23 2022, and that loss was the NFCCG. And since playing the Saints last year, they made themselves better by dumping Garoppolo for Purdy.

Any given Sunday and all of that, SF is a much better team, much better coached.

We did very well defensively vs them last year and purdy was playing if I’m not mistaken. We simply couldn’t score. I don’t fear any team if we are on our A game. Problem is we hardly are on our A game in all phases lol.

That's grade A ridiculous. The whole point of sports is pushing your hardest to win a championship. You can say that it's my age showing, but I'm stating basic facts here. What's next? Graduating middle school is better than graduating high school?

DA has this team ready to play, he may not be the best HC, but the team seems to play hard for him. PC is the issue, if he can actually continue what we did yesterday, we should get better offensively as the season goes on as Carr gets more comfortable in the system, and gets his timing down with receivers.

I hate the Niners too but let’s pump the brakes. The Saints just beat the worst team in the NFL convincingly, as they should have. Not much else to say there. The Pats are definitely looking like the leaders for the first overall pick in next year’s draft. The Niners just laid a beat down on a decent (but nowhere near as good as their hype) Cowboys team. The Cowboys will be a playoff team, the Pats are so bad the NFL may not even allow their players to watch the playoffs…….

If I recall correctly, we spanked the 49ers a few times during regular seasons with Brees and Payton at the helm. Of course, we have the 2011 playoff loss - but to me, that’s on us. We had that game and couldn’t close it out.
Is the premise of the thread that we owe them a heartbreaking playoff loss?

By the way - I think it’s safe to say that the 49ers and Eagles are regarded as the best teams in the NFC - they are on a collision course for pretty big December 3rd meeting. The Eagles also play the Dolphins just saying - some good matchups on the horizon.

It is your age showing, but not in the way you are taking it. It is showing that you weren't alive at the height of the old NFC West rivalries (Saints, Falcons, Rams, 9ers), so you are not going to get the sentiment @SaintswonSBXLIV is expressing. You really had to live through those years to get it.

Now, I don't necessarily agree with SaintswonSBXLIV, but I understand the sentiment.
