Well this is lame (I have to go to a SB party) (1 Viewer)

I'm actually in the same predicament. Neighbors invited us over this morning. Wife wants to go to socialize and I said no we boycotting. She told the neighbors they got upset because they realiy want us to come (which in turn got my wife upset). Next thing you know my son says he wants to go to play with their kids. So I got outvoted and now we are going. I did try to keep my manhood and made an agreement that we will stay till half time but the game isnt not getting any viewership in my house! At least it made me feel a little better. Lol

If you and someone else are both eyeing that last buffalo wing (or whatever they are serving), and he's a step ahead of you to the platter, just deck him to the floor, look around innocently, and point out that no flag was thrown.

I was fully committed to not watching the game. I don’t care who wins and I don’t want to watch it. I have zero interest and watching the game - that we should have been in - would just suck.

I don’t live in New Orleans anymore, so I’m not surrounded by Saints fans. And we moved into a new neighborhood less than two years ago - still making friends and all that business. Friday night my wife tells me we got invited to a Super Bowl party - and we’re going.

So it’s basicslly a social obligation that I have to go and most likely have to watch this damn game.

Any suggestions?

You don’t have to do anything. So I just wouldn’t do it and I question why the wife doesn’t understand this. That said, IF I absolutely had to go or found myself there, I would be socializing with people in another room, like the kitchen or something. Sure, the game may be on, but you can occupy yourself with other stuff. And when someone asks you “who are you pulling for”, you can simply respond with, “who gives a ****, WHO DAT!”

I just bought a yellow handkerchief and I’m gonna make a ref flag out of it. And I’m just gonna throw it on every passing play.

Start a drinking game. Every time the Saints or a Saints player are mentioned do a shot. That should end well.

Just go to the party, but not actually watch the game. Play a game with the kids. Watch a movie in another room. Or just stay in the kitchen, telling everyone “You gotta try this dip!”
