When I went and saw him speak in Houston years ago - in the Woodlands - I had just finished trying to read it. After his lecture, I tried again. I muddled my way through and it was a challenge, but even then I think I got a fraction of it. The focus and re-reading of passages makes for quite a slog.

I live in The Woodlands. If you ever make it back, give me a shout.

And you are right about re-reading passages. I have had to do that a number of times. Sometimes I am in a mood to be challenged, and this book does that. Other times, I want something really easy and will give up on a book if it even thinks about challenging me mentally.

Just ripped through all of the Michael Connolly books in sequence for December/January/February. Started March with the most recent Frontlines book, followed by Tuxedo Park by Jennet Conant, The Honest Spy by Andreas Kollender and A World Undone by G. J. Meyer.

Just picked up three Richard K. Morgan books, recently finishing Altered Carbon.

King Zeno.......i gave up fiction years ago, i'm more of a post civil war history buff but this landed on the coffee table. itsgiven me a fresh insight to new orleans life post-WwI but in-depth descriptions of the feelings of fictional characters bore me to tears.

i try to walk an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.

lately, ready player one, has been my audiobook of choice. holy crap, i didn't know what to expect, but it is definitely one of the most enjoyable books i have "read."

anyone have suggestions to similar books? kinda disappointed that i finished it.

Just started reading "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. It's a few years old, but I find it fascinating.

I enjoyed it and worth the read for sure. Gets a little redundant at times, but still good.

Got it for a buck at the Dollar Tree! I'm having a hard time getting into it and I'm not the HUGEST Fleetwood Mac fan; but having just been in England for the game in October, I am interested in the aspect of his early life in London.

these books are in two different leagues, so not sure if you are looking for some sort of connection - but yea, Handmaid's Tale is transcendent. Atwood is a national treasure for a reason.

Armada I started after Ready Player One. I confess I stopped reading it because I didn't dig it. I wanted to, but it was really flat, imo.
