What is the most bizarre stat or useless fact you can think of regarding the saints (1 Viewer)

Saints only team to play on top of an old cemetery.

Saints gave the Bucs their first franchise win, and it took midway into year 2 to get it.

First ever play in Saints franchise…..KO return for a TD by John Gilliam.

Saints only team ever to have a player named “Hokie”.
And only team ever to have a player named “Gajan”

Only because I was in attendance and it was my first game but…

Half way through the 2003 season the Saints changed their field from the old Astro turf to the new field turf with the fleur dis lis in the middle of the field . The old one had the helmet in the center. That first game on that new field was against Atlanta. a game in which Atlanta blew a 17-0 lead and we wound up winning in OT despite Deuce McAllister fumbling what would be the winning TD through the back of the end zone and the Falcons then missing a 50+ yard FG attempt.

saints are one of three nfl teams not named for people or animals, and the only one named for a holiday :p

In the NFC Championship game, on the kick to send the Saints to the Super Bowl, the kicker, holder, and deep snapper all attended the same high school, Austin Westlake, the same high school Drew attended!
That is wild
Did not know that

I was recently presenting to Louisiana state police, told them I was a saints fan. They proceeded to test me by asking who were all the QBs that playing under Mike ditka

I got all but one and passed Thier 'test' lol.

Who did you miss?

Saints aren’t/weren’t people?
He is actually correct. I believe Dixon went of the Archbishop and asked him if it would be ok to name the franchise the "Saints" which was chosen because that's when it was awarded. So the team is named because of the day, not the people.

Saints once had 5 Wilsons in the backfield

(* there’s a punchline to this, but it’s been YEARS since I’ve heard/verified it - I think it’s 5, might be 4)
