What is the most bizarre stat or useless fact you can think of regarding the saints (5 Viewers)

In the NFC Championship game, on the kick to send the Saints to the Super Bowl, the kicker, holder, and deep snapper all attended the same high school, Austin Westlake, the same high school Drew attended!

That would be astonishing but, unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be true. Those players are Garrett Hartley, Jason Kyle, and Mark Brunell. Brees attended Westlake, while the others each attended a different high school, and none of them in Austin.

The Saints had a league-high 332 game streak of not getting shut out, spanning 21 years, which was snapped this past season.

The streak began after the team lost at home to the 49ers 38-0 in the 2001 season finale, and the streak ended last season in a 13-0 loss to the 49ers on the road.

Prior to that 2001 loss, the Saints last time being shut out came in a 31-0 home loss in 1998 to, you guessed it…the 49ers.

There was a Saints game on Halloween that set the Guinness world record for most people to wear a Halloween costume in one location. I think.

I remember how disappointing that was. Didn’t we have the longest active streak going into that 1998 game, too?

Yes probably so. The shutout prior to that one was all the way back in 1983, so 15 years.

We got shutout by New England near the end of that year, and also, we actually got shutout by the 49ers a few weeks prior to that.

Neither Drew Brees, Rickey Jackson, nor Mike Ditka ever made an NFL All-Decade Team, yet the Saints have at least 1 All-Decade Team Member for each decade from the 1950s to 2010s.

1950s: 2
1960s: 2
1970s: 2
1980s: 1
1990s: 2
2000s: 3
2010s: 3

Here’s a random one I just thought of…other than our Super Bowl year, we have never won twice in the same postseason.

Saints have never fielded a MVP for the season. I know Brees was close but was just beat out by manning.
And during Brees' era with the Saints... Matt Ryan and Cam newton got MVP. NFL MVP is such a joke. It's half a popularity contest.

I thought they all attended Southlake Carroll in Dallas?

It was a different high school. Southlake Carroll but it was Justin Drescher, Chase Daniel, and Garrett Hartley.
