Yeah, I had a vague recollection of that but thought it included Morstead and saw he went to a different high school. That explains where the basis of this comes from.

The Saints had a league-high 332 game streak of not getting shut out, spanning 21 years, which was snapped this past season.

The streak began after the team lost at home to the 49ers 38-0 in the 2001 season finale, and the streak ended last season in a 13-0 loss to the 49ers on the road.

Prior to that 2001 loss, the Saints last time being shut out came in a 31-0 home loss in 1998 to, you guessed it…the 49ers.

I knew there was a reason I hate the 49ers more than any other team including the Falcons.

In 1978, the Saints, under new coach Dick Nolan, lost an early game to the Falcons with a score of 20-17. Later that same season, the Saints lost to the Falcons again by the same score: 20-17. That was the Saints' best season to date, finishing 7-9 so the loss to the Falcons was even more devastating. The Falcons ended the season at 9-7. The following season, the Saints were primed for a good year but started the season with an overtime loss to the Falcons with a score of 40-34. Note the math on the previous year vs this one. The Saints did go on to their first non-losing season, finishing at 8-8. The Falcons finished 6-10.

On a personal note, I remember those two seasons as the Falcons being the ultimate spoilers for the Saints those two years and was the true beginning of my personal dislike for that team.

Here's a useless stat, but it's one for me. The very first time I played Tecmo Super Bowl, I picked the Saints and returned the opening kickoff for a TD.
