Don’t know if this is true or not but the story made the rounds in grade school

We had a schoolmate who was from was Vietnamese or filapino something like that

His grandmother lived in their home country and was coming to visit for the first time

Not long before the family had gotten a puppy

Well, the story goes the grandmother was home alone and when they went home there was a nice meal waiting for them but their puppy was nowhere to be found

He wasn’t in my class and I didn’t know him but I remember the story
