What is your most favorite non playoff moment in SAINT history. (1 Viewer)

Thanks Judge Judy, but you're wrong. This is a forum for Saints fans, not a court of law or city council. Anyone is allowed to ridicule any opinion they see fit.

Yes you are correct and i will stand with my original choice. Now as for caring about the victims of Katrina i would dare anyone to question my compassion for them. I donated willingly. Both my time and money. But for the younger members who dont know what it was like as a child in that era to be ridiculed for being a fan . I can understand how you might not agree with my choice. Love this board and all you fans of it we are passionate about our team. WHO DAT

I wasn't in the dome for the blocked kick.. so I'll go with when it was the loudest I experienced.. the Kyle Turley helmet throw...

I looked around the dome that night.. after that throw.. and I swear I must have seen 10 fights after that.. people falling down stairs... it was a magical night lol.

Reopening of the Dome.

Other memorable games...
Destroying the Patriots in 2009. "He can do the backstroke into the endzone from here!"

Beating the Steelers on Halloween Night.

2002(?) against the Bucs in our throwbacks. Joe Horn made a ridiculous move to catch a perfectly anticipated and thrown TD pass from Brooks.

Of course reopening the dome, and crushing the Pats and the comeback against the Dolphins in 09 (as many have said) but for me, the game was December 14th, 1980 -- the second to last game of a so far win-less season. We beat the Jets 21-20 in New York for our only win that season. I was 8 years old and this was the first game that I remember ever really being invested in. That's when I truly became a Saints fan.

Since most of the good moments have already been said...But,my favorite moment of last season was when we were playing the rams and Jeff Fisher was fighting with his def. coordinator (they guy who was the saints prior) on the sideline. Then in the same game when Willie Snead thew to Hightower for a touchdown to rub it in....Hahaha.Ahhhhh. The Rams game was too good...hahahaha.

Katrina will always be #1. But if I had to pick another...

I don't remember the exact year but Morten kicking the winning field goal against the Cardinals to send us to the playoffs was pretty sweet. I was headed to a funeral but had to stick around long enough to see that kick go through.

That game was one of the reasons I became a Saints fan. The father of a girl I had a crush on was a huge Saints fan. He refused to shave until the Saints won a game. Needless to say he was sporting a full beard by the time that game came around. I thought it was cool that an adult would be that invested so I started following them.

For me it has to be NOVEMBER 29 1987 . After all the years of losing we were finally a winner. I have to confess I cried when time expired. For all the newer fans SAINTS 20 STEELERS 16 our 9'th win in our first winning season. We finished 12-5. in a strike shortened season. If you guys think its bad now after three 7-9 seasons you all should have been around in the 60's,70's & 80's. It was tough being a DIEHARD SAINTS FAN. Well that's my trip down memory lane thanks for listening.

I have that game recorded, could probably upload it if you want.

Joe Horn's phone call from the endzone :17:

That actually irritated me. We were hammering the Giants and he pulled that classless act. This is one of the reasons a lot of Saints fans have Horn as one of the all-time fave Saints receivers. This is one of the reasons is is NOT one of my all time fave Saints receivers.

Re-opening of the Dome and Gleason's block is my #1 of all time INCLUDING the NFCCG and the SB... But as an old-timer I'll add three from "back in the day"

1. John Gilliam returns the opening kick the first time a Saint ever touched the ball in a regular season game.. Remember we had gone 5-1 in pre-season (yes there were 6 appropriately named Exhibition Games back then)... this NFL thingy was going to be easy lol

2. Archie scores as time expires in his first game against the Rams - NOW this NFL thingy was going to be easy

3. Tom Dempsey's kick... by now we knew this NFL thingy was not going to be easy and we celebrated like we had won the Super Bowl

.

:plus-un2:

.

Instead of a "heart-felt" moment, I'll add a "zany" moment:

When John Fourcade threw an INT and during the runback, the defender fumbled the ball, upon which Fourcade scooped it up and ran it back for a TD!

Just like they did it practice!!!! :)

(The last line is pure Sarcasm...)

.

I found this:

"One of Fourcade’s scoring passes was a team-record 82-yard play to TE Mike Waters who was cut by three teams in 1987 alone including New Orleans. Fourcade also scored on an incredible fumble return after one of his passes had been intercepted by the Rams, fumbled after three laterals, and then scooped up by Fourcade who went 75 yards down the left sideline for a score that makes blooper highlight tapes to this day. ... I was going to get to see them beat the crap out of the 8-7 Vikings in the first ever playoff win. I mean, even a 6 year old knows that 12-3 is far superior to 8-7, so there's like no chance that the inferior team would go on the road in the playoffs and forever etch into my memory the score of 44-10 in what ended up being one of the most depressing moments of my short life. I was little and just didn't understand how they could lose, and lose SOOOOOOOOOO BAD. I was crushed.

The life of a Saints fan. :jpshakehead:

.

Tell me about it! I was at that game and felt the SAME WAY!!!

(And I was 33 yrs old at the time!) :-(

.

Honestly , for me it's the Viking's game , Superbowl bound , watching it with my son-in-law ( my son had just passed away not long before ) and he came to my house to watch the game with me . After the game we hugged and cried , it was a happy and sad moment .
