What Song Most Encapsulates the 1980s? (4 Viewers)

Man, I think I'm rocking this assignment today with this and my last two videos I posted.

worst song all time
by a wide margin
Jefferson Starship started the decade stronger with Jane (actually 1979) and Girl With the Hungry Eyes in 1980. Make no mistake, none of it holds a candle to White Rabbit but compared to We Built This City, it’s ******* Beethoven

As I said in my post, you can't encapsulate the 80's in one song... Wall Street, the height of the cold war, officially welcoming the Viet Nam vets, the AIDS epidemic, the beginning of the LGBT movement as we know it today, rap going mainstream, the 2nd British invasion...

And then there are the best masturbation songs ever!

Best masturbation song ever, male category:

Best masturbation song ever, female category:

I mean, i love the 80s too- but in terms of “masturbation songs”, and im no connoisseur of those types of songs (though my how i wish i were)- i would have to hand it (see what i did) to the 1990s, since there’s simply no mistaking the message of a song literally called “I Touch Myself”….

Its possible that the members of Jefferson Starship, or Starship, took the advice of the Doorman in White Rabbit maybe one too many times and feeding their heads with weapons-grade cocaine which, according to late Rick James, might be one hell of a drug, but has repeatedly shown to dilute, weaken the overall quality, level of variety of good songs and musical material from once-great bands about a decade before.

By the early 80's, Jefferson Starship, like a lot of bands from their mid-late 60's era, werent seen, marketed, and promoted to teenagers anymore or teeny-boppers. Their original audiences were now in their late 30's/early-mid 40's

Ironically enough, the 1980's were one decade, at least after their record-breaking 1981 U.S. tour, Rolling Stones didnt do very much or were a band you heard a lot about. After their 1981 tours, they didnt perform again as a group until their Rock and Roll induction ceremony in 1989, even though they released two studio albums, in 1983 and 1986, respectively.

That is exactly what I put "Starship" all down to.
