What to expect moving forward (4 Viewers)

Lack of accountability from the top is why things are a mess. It goes back to something Kamara said last year about guys in practice screwing up and the lack of attention to detail. Mickey Loomis is going to be judged more harshly over the next few seasons, 2022-2025 than 2006-2021.

It is a what have you done for me lately league, always has, always will be. Not even Bill Belichick was able to skirt "What have you done for me lately."
Truth! But 6 Lombardis earns you a LOT more leash than ML thinks he has?! And yet, Belichick is out after only 3-4(?) seasons post-Brady. How many seasons does ML think he gets post-Brees? JMO...

Duncan’s stuff is coming from Loomis
Thanks @REBELMAX. Ditto from my source on the Duncan/Loomis connection.

Carr clapped back at the coaches but after the Texans game he stopped and when he got frustrated later he put Olave on blast which P'Oed off a lot of guys including MT and ML.
So we're talking about Carr putting Olave on blast, and not DA doing so, right?

Lattimore could have played week 14 … he’s done w DA and the whole situation. I think it’s bad what the front office (Loomis) is doing to him through Duncan on his way out the door. I’m guessing Underhill wouldn’t write a piece like that so he wasn’t asked.

I was told the same regarding Lattimore, and was also told that what brought all that unreported drama on was that at a meeting with all players present, DA humiliated Lattimore in front of the entire team and the relationship quickly went downhill from there. Did you hear anything about that?

On Underhill, I am guessing that he isn't too popular with the front office of late because he has become a bit critical.

Dennis Allen has a reputation for being a weasel and he hasn’t done anything to help himself since he was hired.
But like I said - his job was never in jeopardy. DA has leaked to national media that he was safe and has been doing that all year.

That also matches up.

From your OP:
I would expect Jeff Ireland to be in Denver next year. The GM in waiting thing was a Sean play and he’s gone now. He won’t be back next year - I’d wager good money on that. That also gives them cover on the last two drafts. I’m surprised that people believe what they read literally. People thinking Ireland literally chose who we drafted are just naive.

Interesting. Being that Ireland is now being courted.

Regarding Ireland, a story that I was told goes like this... that once Payton was gone, Loomis gave himself final say on draft day, and that Jeff Ireland recommended to Loomis that the Saints avoid taking Trevor Penning in the first round, however, not only did Loomis ignore Ireland and draft Penning, but he traded away a 2023 1st round pick in order to move up to get him, which ended up being pick #10. We know about the trade details, but is the part about Ireland advising against Penning true?

If true, that's borderline unforgivable. When healthy, he's a Top 2 corner in the NFL.

Wow.

Wow.
Not really all that surprising, this dude has taken plays off in the past. He's the best in the league when dialed in though. I don't have an issue moving on from him if the right deal comes along.

I don't think it was about that, as it wasn't framed to me that way, but instead had something to do with a rather large fine being levied on Lattimore being announced by DA in front of the entire team in one of those "This is how it's going to be" type lectures intended to make an example of him. I mean, if it is true. It's just something that I was told and the details are hazy. I do remember the source stating something about the fine being about Lattimore not showing up enough at the facility while injured, which the source said was not at all unusual with injured players in the NFL.

Thank you putting this info in front of everyone.

IF, this is all true, the Saints have a truly dysfunctional organization up and until Loomis is fired....if that's even possible......

Right. I'm trying to read between the lines about current leadership. If Loomis and Lauscha are in cahoots and Gayle is virtually a figurehead, that's worrisome. Loomis and Lauscha aren't going to fire themselves.

The moment Gayle passes and her will is enacted with Sale of franchise. Within the agreement of the sale is that the franchise stays in New Orleans

I think I remember Tom Benson putting that in the will....but we were more concerned and discussing Loomis and if it is even possible for the Saints to cut ties with him....

Does anyone actually believe this is "Loomis's program"? He was bad before Payton, got gifted a short list by then Paul Tagliabue of up in comer assistants and now he is floundering hard post Payton and Brees by making even worse moves.

Nobody debates his ability to manage the cap and sign players but this only really works if you draft well. This continuality experiment has crashed and burned.

I don't know what to make of this information. If he was truly healthy for the last 5 weeks but sat out because of a beef with DA, I have a problem with that. At some point the player has a responsibility to be a professional and a teammate to the other guys in the locker room. He signed a contract with the Saints, not DA.

If he wanted to force his way out after the season, so be it. Quitting in the middle of the year while collecting the checks isn't the answer.
he could have played

I didn’t say he was healthy.

The counterpoint is look what DA did to Winston last year when he played hurt.
