Where were these teachers when I was a kid? (9 Viewers)

These things have been going on, we just kept our mouths shut better.....and didn't have all this technology to spread the word at a moments notice.
Give a teenager (or younger) a cell phone, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, with little to no adult supervision and your inviting sex predators to your dinner table, family room or into your childs bedroom...

I've posted about the double standard of this here before (and I'm just as guilty of it)

45 year old male teacher having sex with his 15 year old female student?

"Pervert! Pedophile! Should be fired, arrested, castrated and tossed in prison for decades!"

45 year old female teacher having sex with her 15 year old male student?

"What does she look like?"

Bumping this 11 year old thread.

This is very similar to something that happened at my high school in the late 1980s.. when i was a freshman, i attended a magnet school for the arts, and - just like the woman in this article who is/was the Director of the program- we had a guy who was director of the theater component of the school.. He had directed me before, and i had taken a class from him as well.. We staged this big production in the Spring, and one day at school, all this crazy ish hit the fan, we were all called into the auditorium, people were crying , it was quite a scene.. we found out that this guy , the director , had been fired and had also been arrested.. the principal of the school, who announced all this to us was very short on details- so it wasnt until the newspaper arrived at my house the next day that i saw his picture on the front page and found out he had made 4 or 5 teenage girls , who were seniors, dance topless for him in a ’rehearsal’……. To me, as a freshman- these girls seemed like fully-developed, grown women.. but looking back, they were only 17 (i think one was 18).. and it was pretty fricked up…. That said, the reason these things make headlines is becuase they are rare.. something similar happened at a Catholic school I attended when i was younger, and the guy was a ‘highly respected’ coach and teacher.. so it isnt something specific to theater or whatever, it’s that whenever you have people in positions of power- a certain percentage will unfortunately abuse that power .
