Where were these teachers when I was a kid? (11 Viewers)

The student was 17, which is the age of consent in LA. But she's a teacher at his school, meaning she technically has authority over him. So "fraternization" is against the law.

I am NOT an attorney, but if i am not mistaken that while 17 is the age of consent there is still a 2 year rule in place. So if greater than 2 years it can still be considered statutory...but i may be waayyyy off.

If you're 17, anyone 17+ is ok. If you're 17+, you can even go 4 years back.

A. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when:(1) A person who is seventeen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is thirteen years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender and when the difference between the age of the victim and the age of the offender is four years or greater; or

LA R.S. 14:80

Agh, the misdemeanor statute has the two year provision:

A. Misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when a person who is seventeen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is thirteen years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender, and when the difference between the age of the victim and age of the offender is greater than two years, but less than four years.

Welcome to Every High School, USA.

I know two separate guys that tagged two separate teachers in high school. And I'm fairly certain one of our coaches tagged a couple girls as well. The girls were whores and the guys were awesome.

I always thought that one of them was just one of those rumors, but then I hung out with them after graduation and it seemed totally plausible. I don't know who the other one might be, but I damn sure hope it was Mrs. Bailey.

In tenth grade, one of my high school football coaches had to marry a girl in that year's senior class to avoid legal complications. He was only 22 and in his first year of teaching/coaching. The girl was 18. His status as a teacher was what got him in hot water. If the same romance had taken place a year later, there would have been nothing said. That was over 30 years ago.

During my first year as an educator eighteen years ago, an English teacher at the school I worked at was known to host parties at her house with students and rumors abounded that she was hooking up with at least one of her students. She was in her late 20's/early 30's.

Neither situation resulted in arrests. That would definitely not be the case today.

The charge here is prohibited sexual conduct with a student. So I don't think the age discussion is relevant. She's a teacher, he's a student.

I mean, she's pretty, so good for him

But what the hell? What's wrong with this pretty 20-something year old chick that she can't just have sex with someone close to her own age? Make jokes about half her face if you want, but there's plenty of 25-30 year old men that would love to get some of that

I'm sure at 17 I would have found it cool, but it's still creepy as hell

I know of at least three teachers who got laid into by my friends in high school... Only difference was that my friends didnt run their mouths.... Well, they did, but we didnt have internet back then so no one found out....

I had a teacher from jr. High come up to me in a bar one night and tell me she had wanted to sleep with me since i was in her class, ummmmm, that was 8th grade... It kinda freaked me out more than anything.....

This pic is a little better than Fox8's cropped headshot:

Not true. 17 is age of consent, but if the other person is over 19 then it is still statutory rape in La.
