Jake Haener.
If they put Carr on IR who will they sign to the practice squad as qb?

The Saints have a thing for mini QBs. Thus without a great offensive line that can open running holes and throwing lanes, they don’t have a prayer.I was thinking the same thing when Haener came in. Dude is tiny for an NFL QB.
I don't understand why we wouldn't want to see what Haener can do? Rattler was clearly not ready in his starts earlier this season. I like him, but he'll have plenty of opportunities in the next season or two to show he's ready. We need to see what we have in Haener more than Spencer.I still say Spencer…. I can see why some would just like to see what Jake can do.
That said, I think it’s pretty clear one has NFL starter talent and the other is marginal at best in that regard.
Since the season is all but done…. I’d personally like to see if we have a future at the position with Spencer rather than hold onto the 1% hope we can somehow run the table with Jake.
We are no longer playing for a chance to contend…. We are playing to see who’s here next year, and who we have to draft…. But that’s just me.

The reason I'm leaning Jake is because if he has value as a backup, we hang onto him for that reason and we'd be set there and Rattler or the next guy can be the guy who takes the team places. But I can understand going either way.Just my thing. I’m not worried about who is ready right now. Neither are IMO. I want to know if the guy in the building with NFL starter talent can be the guy going forward. I’m 99% sure that future guy isn’t Jake.

Haener is bigger than Young and the same size as BreesI was thinking the same thing when Haener came in. Dude is tiny for an NFL QB.
You probably said the same thing about Purdy and Brady. I'll bet if it's JH he does better than SR did.Just my thing. I’m not worried about who is ready right now. Neither are IMO.
