Whiffing the Draft has finally shown up (3 Viewers)

We need to try him at Center like he's supposed to be and try McCoy at Guard. What could it hurt? Edit: And I mean next year, not right now.
I was just about to write this. Go ahead and do what you intended to do b/c he struggles at RG. McCoy is good enough to do anything (I believe).

Turner is a 1st Rounder that can’t get on the field.

That’s a problem.

It’s funny how we joked about this but he’s Davenport 2.0 w/o the mental issues. He’s all good if he can stay on the field.

Why do you think he’s playing Guard. The plan was to move McCoy but he’s clearly a better Center than Ruiz. Ruiz is another one that has immaturity issues. He was just a miss by the pro personnel guys. They relied on information that I can guarantee is not deemed reliable today

Do we know that?

He looked VERY promising when he played. He’ll have no problem earning playing time when available; he has just been injured this year.

He didn’t seem to miss a lot of games in college, and while he has been on the injured list for most of his rookie year, I don’t think we can say that it is “a problem” yet. Not every player who misses games as a rookie ends up missing a ton of games every year.

Is he acting up?

Says who? The Saints already did it in the 2017 draft. The Saints went from a legit 3 year rebuild to competing the same year. Lattimore, Ram, AK41, Marcus Williams, Trey Hendrickson, (Anzelone sp?), even 7th round pick Al-Quadin Muhammad (5 sacks this season) for Colts. It can be done.
Yes. And that draft class is historic for a reason—that’s not typical to hit on every draft pick.

If a team can get at least two to three players to majorly contribute per draft then it’s doing well. The fact of the matter is that if you hit every year on every pick, your franchise won’t be able to keep all of those players in house for long anyway due to the salary cap. Eventually you will have to pay them all.

You end up with the Trey Hendrikson situation this board is still crying over. We had to choose between keeping him or franchising Marcus. Those type of decisions would happen every offseason if we hit on every draft pick. It sounds great until a player at a position you think should be prioritized over another walks and ends up an AllPro for rival franchise.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe New Orleans is at the top of the league for hitting on draft picks. I trust the front office to select the best players to hit the field in 2022.

Ok.

Is he hurt ? Do you know ? Right. There’s more there. That’s all I’m saying.
I see people do this all the time. You’re sound like you’re making things up. And you arent substantiating anything. It’s really annoying. Either say what you know in full or don’t say anything at all.

I don’t know what this means.

Yes, he’s hurt. I said that. He’s on IR with a shoulder injury. That doesn’t mean he will have an injury plagued career. It’s too early to tell that.

Or are you saying that the Saints are lying about his injury and put him on IR for other reasons?

That’s a pretty big accusation though, and with the million injuries we’ve had this season, it would have to be something VERY bad for the team to IR their 1st round pick for some other reason (and incredibly shady to lie about it).

Any info to share? I usually don’t like when people speculate/start rumors about mental health/character concerns without evidence.

A) I didn’t say anything about mental health issues .. smh

B) The Saints are one step above or even with a communist regime when it comes to giving out information. That’s not big news or anything new.

I didn’t say you did, but it has certainly happened before.

But if it isn’t mental health or character concerns, then what is it that you keep vaguely alluding to?

And not giving out a lot of info during press conferences, or saying “he has a shoulder” instead of saying what the specific injury is, is a LOT different than IR-ing your 1st round pick early in the season (when he’s not really injured) during one of the most injury-plagued/short-staffed years we’ve ever had.

Not giving out info is one thing, lying to the league (which could get us in a lot of trouble) and the fans on that level, is another thing entirely.

Ruiz was just a bad pick… I hated it at the time, and it hasn’t gotten any better.

Huge red flags popped up for me when he started crying after he was selected… I can’t remember any dude I’ve seen cry when drafted turn into a really good player. Maybe Vernon Davis? ..but that took like 5-6 years before he became better than average… prior to that he was a knuckleheaded bust.
Takk McKinley? Crying while holding a full size portrait of his grandma and dropping F-bombs! Total bust.. 🤦‍♂️
You ever heard of tears of joy? When he got drafted as a 1st round pick he just got a fully guaranteed $12.5M contract. After taxes and agent pay he likely clears $7M and with proper management he is set for life as a 22 year old. I would be crying tears of joy too!
