In another thread someone had asked about Loomis and what he was like. So I thought this would be an interesting thread. I'm sure a lot of posters who still live down there have some interesting stories. Here is my list:

Archie Manning - just a normal promotional signing (AT&T?) at the mall when Peyton was at UT. I got him to sign a mini helmet, his rookie card, and the SI with he and Peyton on it.
Willie Roaf - ran into him in an elevator. Probably biggest guy I had ever seen in person.
Rickey Jackson - Training camp. Got my pic with him and he signed a card I had. One of the few players I ever felt intimidated around
Ricky Williams - Training camp. Very shy, helmet on. Would not sign what I had but said he would after he showered. Never saw him again (there is a whole side story to that)
Aaron Brooks - After a game. Small crowd around him. I asked him if he would sign his card I had...he refused. Then seconds later obliged to some girl.
Danny Wuerffel - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Winfred Tubbs - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
John Farquar - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Boo Williams - Pre game. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Billy Joe Tolliver - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Mike Ditka - Training camp. Signed the SI with him on it. Never got out of his golf cart lol.

Peyton Manning - not Saint related but I waited on him several times at a restaurant in Knoxville when he was at college here. Few times with his then-girlfriend and then several times with other UT players. Very nice guy and very grounded. One of those times I got him to sign the same SI cover from above with his he and his Dad on it (I had left it in my car because I knew he came in there all the time lol.) At like 19 or 20, he came in with all his lineman and I waited on them all. They all left and he lingered behind looking at each of their checks. I asked him if he needed something and he said that he just wanted to make sure that they took care of me. I thought that was very mature for a 20 year old college student. The last time I waited on him I told him to get ready for cold weather in Indy because that's who was drafting him. He just smiled and said 'Maybe..."

There are probably more I have forgotten about now.

I was probably 8 years old at The Riverwalk when I met John Fourcade, during the time he was the starter. My parents and uncle asked him if I could have an autograph and he was super-nice about it. He went on and chatted with my parents and uncle for a few minutes. He seemed really down to earth.

I was like 11-12 years old, so this is somewhere around 1992-1993, I was cruising the mall in Metarie, walked into Champs Sports and Craig Heyward was there dribbling a basketball near their set-up hoop. After I walked in, he turned around and saw me, then handed me the ball. He told me to try and get by him and score. Being a shy kid, I didn't know what to say or do, so I just did what he said. I tried crossing him over from left to right, but that dude was so big and fast I had no chance. Didn't even come close to getting by him. He was really energetic and goofy, like a big kid.

My aunty lived across the street from Bennie Thompson in New Orleans East. I only met him once when she introduced me to him when he got home from a practice. He just simply waived and said hello. My aunty said he was really nice to them.

Met:
Drew-he’s the GOAT off the field as well
Andy Dalton
Dante Stallworth
Aaron Brooks-friends with his cousin
Pierre Thomas-almost forgot that I met him. Instantly became one of my favorite players of all time.

Know (acquaintances):
Roman Harper-lived near him before he just moved to LA. Just an absolute outstanding human being.
Knew:
Vaughan Johnson (RIP)-would hang out with us at tailgates. Lots of fun to be around
Jake Delhomme-hilarious dude and also an outstanding human being. Has a nickname for me, which I will not divulge to you goobers🤣

Garret Hartley when he did a meet and greet at Academy the week after the Super Bowl

Rickey Jackson came to my high school to speak

I got a picture with Thomas Morestead, Drew Brees, and Demario Davis at training camp

Drew Brees also came to my local Walk-ons one time and I got a picture with him there.

Zach Strief at Port Orleans Brewery... Outstanding and humble guy!

Larry Warford at Bayou Beer Graden. I played pool with him and spoke for about 10 mins, he was with his wife and friends, all very nice then met him again at Parlay's in Lakeview and he actually remembered me and shot pool with him again.

Drew Brees at TC, took a photo with him and shook his hand.

Steve Gleason on a plane flying with his family. Nice people.

We have a Walk Ons here that he is part owner of. Love eating there but I'm always hoping on some off-chance that he will be there one time lol.

1) Back in the 70's when players still worked in the offseason, Elios Grooms worked for my dad's company (I think Petromarine?) for a few years, really nice guy.....
2) Met Archie Manning when my wife spotted him at.....Mannings.....we were there to watch a soccer match and lunch, he was....as expected, very nice and gracious.....
3) Met Brad Edelman at the Canal Villere on Vets in the 80's, very nice guy
4) best one for last - worked as a courier for a barge company in the late 80's, one of their salesman was....Rich Mauti, super nice and funny guy, loved to play practical jokes, good dude.....

Tom Myers at the mall in Spring Texas. Super nice guy, very unassuming…I felt bad that I didn’t know who he was at first.

He was very humble, after looking at his stats and career I found out he was a baller.

George Rogers. Fun and funny dude.

Sean Payton - Friday night before the NOLA No Call game. Met at Clancy's uptown. We sent a bottle of wine to his table. Our server waited on him a bunch and knew what wine he liked. He liked a Sonoma Coast Pinot. When she brought it over, she asked if we could stop by on our way out to say hello. He agreed and couldn't have been nicer. We didn't linger. Said hello, thank you and got a quick group photo that agreed to.

Short Timer TE Ernie Conwell - Southwest flight from CA to New Orleans. He actually nodded and suggested me and my brother sit in the empty seats next to him. Maybe the Saint's gear we had on?? Super nice guy. I didn't recognize him at first. It wasn't till he said his name was Ernie. After that, I put 2 and 2 together and figured out who he was. We talked Football on the entire flight. We didn't initiate it, he seemed like he genuinely enjoyed talking. The funniest thing he said, we he called Stallworth a "Window Licker" (jokingly).

Met some random Saint's Cheerleaders out and about in CA, LOL.

The billy Joes were hilarious.

yeah Ricky was super shy, did get some stuff signed though

hung out with turley a few times after

Met Joe Horn in STL- super nice

Got pic with brees in stl in 2011- super nice.

Through some weird connections I found myself in the Poydras St endzone chatting with Doug Thornton (Superdome GM) and Sean Payton about an hour after beating the Panthers in Week 8 of the 2009 Super Bowl season. All the players were milling around and playing catch with their kids. I can't remember a thing we talked about but remember loving Payton (being 8-0 helped).

Roman Harper-lived near him before he just moved to LA. Just an absolute outstanding human being.
My friends lived a few houses down from him.

Met Archie a few years ago on St Charles during Mardi Gras. My buddy and I got a picture with him.

Deuce hanging out in the CBD before a saints game a few years ago. He was sitting down so I just said hi and moved on.

Scott Fujita outside of Rock n sake. He was nice and put up with our drunk arses.

Jimmy Taylor in 1967 before the team got together, w/Paul Hornung in Lafayette at a friend's house(his dad played w/Hornung at Notre Dame). I was too starstruck to remember.
I met Howard Stevens & few others(can't remember names) at Tulane Stadium, after they beat the Bills. It was the game they held OJ to 70 yds(the year he set the record).
Ironhead came through the kitchen & met us the day after the draft.
A few others over the years until Mora(as a former Marine, we hit it off); then almost all of them. Either at Training camp or at the restaurant. Mora always brought prospective FA to the restaurant. Sidwell & his wife bought an apartment from the company my wife ran the office(I found some playbook sheets that he had given me). Morton, both Hilgenburg bros & couple of other guys lived above the restaurant(saw Joel multiple times a week for lunch). I worked w/Morton dozens of times(he gave my wife a practice jersey) He seldom had same girl more than once. Steve Walsh & I spent time together. His wife & mine were pregnant at the same time. Swilling used our valet before every home game, because his massage therapist was across the street(she was amazing!).
I never want to see Bobby again! He was in negotiations for a new contract at the time. I had been working w/him & talking all night. He told me he was leaving to sign his new contract. The next day I found it was with ATL!
I never lived in NOLA again. I wish I could have been there for the Payton/Brees years!
Other than Bobby(even then we'd had good interaction before), I've never had anything other than good experiences!
