Who are the Saints players or Coaches you have met and what was your interaction/thoughts on them? (10 Viewers)

Saw Ricky Williams at a casino when he played for the Saints. He was playing craps and I happened to be wearing his jersey. I was waiting for him to leave the table so I could get an autograph. He saw me and motioned for me to come over. He said ā€œIf I lose while Iā€™m signing this Iā€™ll kick your arse.ā€

In my line of work I've met and worked for quite a few players and coaches. Most were very decent and nice people but then there's the "other" ones who if I never saw or heard their names again it would be too soon. Two of the worst were probably Jim Haslett and Michael Thomas.

I did have the great fortune of becoming pretty good friends with Hokie Gajan. Without a doubt one of the most genuine and down to earth people I've ever known in my life.

I don't think there has ever been a human on the planet who loved to hunt and fish more than Hokie.

In another thread someone had asked about Loomis and what he was like. So I thought this would be an interesting thread. I'm sure a lot of posters who still live down there have some interesting stories. Here is my list:

Archie Manning - just a normal promotional signing (AT&T?) at the mall when Peyton was at UT. I got him to sign a mini helmet, his rookie card, and the SI with he and Peyton on it.
Willie Roaf - ran into him in an elevator. Probably biggest guy I had ever seen in person.
Rickey Jackson - Training camp. Got my pic with him and he signed a card I had. One of the few players I ever felt intimidated around
Ricky Williams - Training camp. Very shy, helmet on. Would not sign what I had but said he would after he showered. Never saw him again (there is a whole side story to that)
Aaron Brooks - After a game. Small crowd around him. I asked him if he would sign his card I had...he refused. Then seconds later obliged to some girl.
Danny Wuerffel - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Winfred Tubbs - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
John Farquar - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Boo Williams - Pre game. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Billy Joe Tolliver - Training camp. Nice guy. Took a pic with me.
Mike Ditka - Training camp. Signed the SI with him on it. Never got out of his golf cart lol.

Peyton Manning - not Saint related but I waited on him several times at a restaurant in Knoxville when he was at college here. Few times with his then-girlfriend and then several times with other UT players. Very nice guy and very grounded. One of those times I got him to sign the same SI cover from above with his he and his Dad on it (I had left it in my car because I knew he came in there all the time lol.) At like 19 or 20, he came in with all his lineman and I waited on them all. They all left and he lingered behind looking at each of their checks. I asked him if he needed something and he said that he just wanted to make sure that they took care of me. I thought that was very mature for a 20 year old college student. The last time I waited on him I told him to get ready for cold weather in Indy because that's who was drafting him. He just smiled and said 'Maybe..."

There are probably more I have forgotten about now.
Personally, I want to thank you for a fun, positive post. This place has been just like the news lately, yuck. Saints go to NFCCG next year...awesome! The Saints go 6-11 next year...hey, I'm not stressed (only a fool would let a 6-11 record next year ruin his/her day. We all know mediocrity when we smell it. Relax. U better! Don't have a MI for the black and gold.
