I'm interested in Weaver tbh. Harbaugh (John) speaks very highly of him, specifically his leadership abilities and ability to communicate and lead the players. I don't know why anyone would even interview the offensive coordinator for the Giants though. Mike Kafka is interesting but no thank you.

There is no reason to rush this hire. Nobody now is competing with you for the current candidates. Jags just got their guy in Coen. Dallas is probably hiring their guy soon which isn't Brady or Kingsbury. Saints are a much better job than the Raiders. Nobody else is currently rushing to talk to McCarthy, you should have no problem getting the guy you want that is still up for grabs in this cycle.

All true, although Brady’s presence seems to elevate the Raiders job a little more than it would otherwise be.

It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they interviewed a few more candidates either.

I am still pretty agnostic on this current bunch. I keep thinking its all a crapshoot and we’re either going to be left hoping we hired the Next Andy Reid (retread that can level up) or the Next Sean McVay (hotshot coordinator ready to make the leap).

Statistically we’re much more likely to hire the Next Ron Rivera or Next Brandon Staley so I try not to get too excited about any one guy. That said I am most down on Kingsbury based off the locker room stories from AZ - very strong DA vibes.

Gun to my head I would go with one of the younger guys like Brady or Weaver or Kafka just because I think it would be more fun with higher upside.

Anthony Weaver is my top choice based on everything I've seen in his interviews and his coaching pedigree. I hope he wows them in his second interview.

Joe Brady or Kliff Kingsbury.....we need someone with some youth that will attack going to get a young, athletic QB to go with them. With those guys you would need some patience and a vision to get a QB in the draft in 2-3 years.

Mike Mccarthy would have been fine if we had Drew Brees but if we hire Mike Mccarthy then Loomis will be more inclined to keep Carr and pretend that this team is better than what it is rather than rebuild. You have a higher floor with Mccarthy but we've seen his ceiling in Dallas without a generational QB and that is why Dallas let him go.

We need to start taking chances to get to be a contender again rather than taking the safe route and having a limited ceiling.
