Top young candidates will look at this job and run.I can't vote. Too hard to say. Carr has looked terrible and we are in cap hell with an old roster. It's not the most attractive job and whomever we hire will need 2-3 years to really see what they can do.
You might have to go for the "reach" young candidate who would be happy with the chance. But it would be a disservice to him or anyone else really. The next coach is set up to fail, as was the current coach. This mess has been brewing, it's why Sean bailed. It's just that it's reaching a boiling point now. The aftermath will probably get even uglier. This will take a few years to fix. Thanks for making it happen, Loomis!Top young candidates will look at this job and run.
I'd imagine our most realistic option is a veteran coach who thinks this roster can still "win now". My guess is Gruden.
You may be right. If it was Gruden, I wonder what coaches would come with him.Top young candidates will look at this job and run.

This gets repeated way too often here and it couldn’t be further from the truth. There are only 32 of these jobs, and most young coaches are thrilled at the prospect of ANY HC offer they land, especially when you factor in the life-changing money involved.
Now, if it’s a situation where the guy has more than one firm offer to choose from, which is more rare than many realize, then sure he may look at all of those factors. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to can they land an offer, and if so, is the money right.
Isn't the Dennis Allen story a version of this, though? This gets repeated way too often here and it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’d say the Saints is a better job than the ones that are currently open like the Raiders and Panthers.Top young candidates will look at this job and run.
