Presuming it’s Loomis making the decision, watch out for the offensive version of Dennis Allen… Joe Lombardi.

I have a name that I think would check a lot of boxes:

Joe Brady

*Familiar with the organization and culture
*Could excite a Louisiana fan base
*Has experience with the players that are still here from 2017-2018
*Was on the fast track before he was Matt Rhuled
*Could build on concepts and terminology that the young receivers already know
*Is widely believed to have the temperament/personality for the job

He's awfully green but scared money don't make money.

I see a lot of Jim Harbaugh votes, not sure why...

I think your top 3 most likely is:

Eric Bieniemy (previously interviewed/interest/NOLA ties/hard nosed/success w/Howell)
Jon Gruden (worked well with Carr/hates Goodell/proven leadership)
Ben Johnson (ties to New Orleans North (Detroit)/high upside young coach)

I would be fine with any of these, but my preference is Ben Johnson.

Good post I hadn't thought about him

I am a bit worried we won't be able to attract a good coach here. We have a lot of salary cap issues, not a lot of good players, and the current team culture is poor. AND we are saddled with DC4.
This may be the biggest reason why there won't be any coaching moves made for a while. It will likely take more than money to get a really good head coach.

I believe we could do a lot worse.

I'm hoping Brian Flores as I was when this sheet show started. If not him then Eric "sleeping with" Bienemy.
Yeah, Flores was my first choice, also. He was one of the coaches who got a call back for a 2nd interview post-CSP. Love what the guy did for Miami, even with his owner doing everything (including offering a pay-for-loss scheme that Flores refused to accept) to tank the team. That showed me coaching under adversity plus high level ethics.

Of those listed in the "pole", Ben Johnson.

SP had an alpha type personality. How do you know he was in charge? He would tell you, How do you know he was a good coach? He would tell you. There is nothing wrong will being mentally strong and confident as long as you can control your environment and inspire those around you.

DA matches the personality of Loomis and the rest of the members in the front office.. There is nothing awe inspiring in his style of coaching whatsoever.

Whomever comes in will have to be able to re-focus the team into playing discipline football again and work with a sub-par QB

Whoever it is will have a tough start. We play the NFC East and AFC West next year, and if we stumble our way into a division win this year we'll likely get the Lions, Ravens, and 49ers on top of that.

You're on the right track....we might not be a preferred location for a Coordinator level coach to leave a stable situation to jump up to HC but a positional coach with aspirations of jumping...would love to take a shot at skipping a grade.

When you think of the situation SP inherited coming off of Katrina and bringing in a QB post-major surgery, nothing he was given was a sure thing. He had to prove he was the right choice as HC (spiting GB) as much as Drew wanted to prove Miami/Saban and anyone else that they were wrong about him. Sean slowly built a culture of winning that we weren’t used to and now our anger at this franchise is because we see it rapidly slipping away and they won’t do anything about it.

Dennis hasn’t proven anything as an HC and this is his 2nd stint. Giving him a pass on last year was one thing, but the inconsistencies were still front and center this year to address early on and management didn’t. Coming off a bye to lose to our most hated rival should have been the bell toll for him. Maybe Detroit needs to embarrass us before anything moves but I doubt it highly.
