Will be a dereliction of duty if the front office does not get Winston help at WR before the trade deadline (1 Viewer)

By appearances, I would say this is correct but I just want to hold off on judging it until CGM is drawing some heat away from him. I mean, even as a number 2, some teams are going to be able to cover you really well so he will have to become better at all things, like getting off a jam at the line, etc. We should know more in the coming weeks. Still a big fan of this kid though.
I’m a fan as well, but he has to prove it consistently first. Time will tell

We still have one third-round pick. I'd trade it for Cooks, and then I'd make an effort to keep him around next year too (like we should have done with Manny Sanders).

Micheal Thomas is coming back. Assuming he comes back like the version we know, he’ll be a huge help. He and Harris will put us in much better shape, and I think Stills is still going to be a help whenever he starts to click. I agree we could use one more playmaker, though. While Callaway, TQS, and a few others have shown great promise, more consistency in the passing game is needed. I agree, it would be a shame to waste such a great defense with a lethargic passing game.

did they ever get Williams off the franchise tag? im sure if they extend him to a long term deal that would free up a few mil

We need help and to continue rolling with the same problem is a mistake. I hope we get someone who can separate. I thought it was going to be Stills.

Yeah, because good WRs and teams ready and willing to trade them AND eat salary are a dime a dozen. So, yeah, let's fire Loomis if he doesn't make it happen. SMH.

Yep, it's not an unlimited talent pool. And we would likely have to give up a draft pick for a quality veteran WR. I'm not against it if it is a guy SP thinks can help us right away but I don't like trading away draft picks either...we will see what happens....

Once franchised the team has to wait until open season to renegotiate. 2022 can give us some cap relief if we can sign him to a long term deal - something the Saints need to really do!

Significant help, not Hogan or White or some other nonsense BS.

Allen Robinson
OBJ (although that's always a constant injury risk)
Brandon Cooks (but does he want to come back)
Devante Parker (health might be an issue)
How does Loomis trade for these players, like what are some scenarios where we can make this happen I feel this might help your post. The other teams have to be willing to trade. It aint madden.

Loomis "Hey Browns GM, Andrew Berry, we the saints feel we are a good enough team to win the superbowl if we have a good receiver, will you trade us oddell for a conditional 7th and take on all his salary. Thanks"

I mean everyone after same goal

And ya'll thought we missed out on title during the no-call year. This could really sting if we fail to get there because we refuse to address crucial needs on offense.

I think it would be a dereliction of duty of your part if you don't tell us how costly would be to trade for each of this players.

I want to know the assets that you think it will cost us and also how are we going to add these contracts to our salary cap situation, not only for this year.

I hear the niners are listening to offers for Brandon Aiyuk.

I’ve been following Aiyuk closely bc I drafted him in FF (total bust so far this year). It’s pretty shocking his significant regression. Even with Kittle out the past couple games Aiyuk gets barely any targets on a high snap count. I know QB has been an issue there but Deebo looks all world and Aiyuk seems to be Brandon Coleman now when last season they were about even. I’d be hesitant to trade for Aiyuk now, not sure what happened there and I bet they’d want at least a 3rd since he’s so young and last year was very promising.

An emphatic yes. I posted in another thread that you cant waste this defense its a championship caliber one. A great defense in the NFL is very short lived. Ask Miami and WFT. Both teams had great defenses last year, now they are bad.

Getting the right pieces to help improve this offense will greatly compliment this defense

Kinda like we wasted all those years with Brees and the offense?

He’s borderline #2. It can go both ways. Sometimes he looks the part and sometimes he doesn’t. A true #2 WR pretty much resembles a #2 WR most of the time. Callaway isn’t there yet. It looked like he was learning things by having Sanders on the team, but who is he learning from this year? We have no veteran for him to look up to. No one to teach him the little intricacies of exploiting a defense, finding soft spots in the defense, how to help out your QB under duress, how to use your body to your advantage, etc. He’s just out there trying to maintain. That’s not what we need from a #2. His game needs more work.
Borderline #2???? I'd say Callaway is borderline #3 at best. I don't see him being as high as a #3 on very many teams.
