Will Jameis be on the move? (1 Viewer)

Nah, disagree respectfully
You disagree with the fact that if Carr stays healthy and plays every snap of every game for the rest of the 2023 season... Matt Ryan or Colt McCoy's production with the Saints for the rest of this season (nothing) would be same as Winston's production with the Saints for the rest of this season (nothing)?

An irrelevant thread. The backup QB teams will want to trade for is 'Famous' Davis Mills.

Yes

Man Jameis ain't picking up the Vikings playbook in two weeks to beat us. We'll probably smoke them.
Im going to agree with the JW crowd, whenever the Saints win, it spawns “can we sell off Jw threads”. This is truth. I see why there’s such polarity. Lol. I think the JW sellers are just looking for ways to improve. People need to know that motive is for the greater of the team and not anti-jw. If they hated him they wouldn’t even think he had value to suggest a trade.

I sound like a JW apologist, sorry, but I like the guy. I still believe that if he tightened up his game he could be great for the Saints. He has that positive energy effect like the LSU LB. Anyway, in two years behind Carr could be the time he needs to put it together.

Got it.
Jameis zero production would be more than someone else's zero production.

Whether or not you want to admit it, there is a better than average chance we could trade Jameis for some sort of draft capital... which may or may not be equal compensation to his true value to this team... (and while I don't think it would create any 2023 cap space) we could sign an experienced backup QB to a less expensive contract... and the on field production we get from whoever we sign would be no less than the on field production we would get from Jamies for the rest of the season if Derek Carr stays healthy for the rest of the year and plays every snap of every game (something he has managed to do throughout his career).

I feel like the JW trade threads have come after the Aaron Rodgers injury and now the Kirk Cousins injury.

If he was still 5000 yard Winston, with 2 INTs per game, then somebody would roll the dice. But after getting twisted up like a pretzel twice with the Saints, I think you just get dink and dunk, and 2 INTs per game. Not much trade value. But I’d take anything, including a 2026 seventh rounder. I’d like to see him get a shot somewhere.

Why would somebody want washed up Matt Ryan as a backup on this team?

I rock with you Rex but this one is lost on me

Are you talking about Haener?
No im talking about JW. JW has all of the traits except reps. (Reps to iron out his game). Obviously, he's not going to get reps, but maybe more time behind Carr, and who knows. TBCH, I've always viewed him as on-the-cusp to breaking out. (Its frustrating because you want to see your vision come to fruition)

There's one type of QB that strikes fear in me, and thats a pocket QB that has a huge arm, tough as nails, but is also highly mobile. My question about JW is, can he still be mobile? The last time we've seen him play as a starter, he's been hampered by injury or play design. But if you noticed, and I could be wrong, but JW in the preseason looked slimmer and mobile. Ive said a few times, that the legs go first as a Qb ages, so that's something to keep an eye on. Carr has borderline but acceptable mobility. (It really helps to have Taysom to compensate). In this league you have to be able to extend plays.

This is what I think of Haener since his suspension:

In their defense, there's Viking fans on twitter that mentioned it immediately after the game.

While I suspect this is Winston's last year with us, I don't want to trade him.

1st) Carr has already gotten hurt, while our OL is better lately, it still isn't all that trustworthy

2nd) Rarely does a team go through the season where they do not need their backup QB

3rd) Could you imagine having to put the rookie in to man down the offense for anything more than a few plays? He is so far from even being kinda close to ready, it would be a utter failure.

We just aren't really in a place to trade JW. The return pick we would get would never even come close to the value we get from just keeping him on as the backup in case of an injury.

I'd rather see the 49ers win a SB again then ever see Matt Ryan in uniform for us. Plus, we wear white pants sometimes, and you guys know what he did in those white pants in Atlanta. 💩💩💩
