With the 10th Pick in the 2025 draft, the Saints select? (23 Viewers)

I know everyone thinks Jeanty is a generational player, and while he is an intriguing prospect, He hasn't ever really played anyone. The only good defense he played (Penn State) held him to under 4 yards per carry. Not overwhelming. He has great vision and burst, but doesn't really have that 5th gear to pull away. I'd change my position on him if he runs a sub 4.5 at the draft, but he's not gonna outrun NFL DBs like he does Mountain West DBs. I think other running back prospects like Omarion Hampton, Kaleb Johnson, and Quinshon Judkins are all as equally likely to be legitimate capable feature backs in the NFL. If I could have any of the above, AND an additional draft pick in the mid 20s to get an elite TE like Loveland or Warren, I'd take that over just Jeanty ALL DAY.

He's hit 22mph in game, is that fast enough? It's funny that some fans are down playing his game against Penn St., but the draft gurus and other articles out there are complimenting that he still went for over 100 yards against a team that sold out to stop him.

It took him 30 carries to get over 100 yards. At his size, he wont last long in the NFL getting 30 carries a game. He also wont last long fumbling twice every game either.

The fact is Penn State did stop him. And they won the game. You can stand on his 100 yards if you think that's sum, but 2 fumbles and a big fat LOSS ain't at all that.

I think Jeanty is fast enough to be a very good RB. Probably not the homerun hitter he is in college, but still plenty good enough speed. I question is agility and whether he's a volume back that needs a lot of carries to get going. I also have concerns about the number of carries he had this year and if it will take a toll on him long term. And two fumbles in a game the first time he played a real defense also concerns me. But, that can likely be fixed.

I still think he's a first round pick, but I'm not a fan of taking him at #10 unless the trade offers aren't the right value and there isn't a better player available at the pick.

I agree with you that Warren, an extra 3rd, and a RB like Judkins would be better value IMO.

So you discount his entire season of which he only fumbled twice for 1 game where one of the top teams in the country did everything they could to hold him to 100 yards? You're going to "stand on" that?

He unquestionably does have a gear to pull away and has shown it on numerous occasions throughout his career at BSU. Whether we should take him or not is a completely different debate, but the dude is incredibly talented.

Jeanty has already shown he can pull away from legit defenses. He did so with ease against Oregon this year.

Last year against Washington (National Championship runner up) he took this catch for a 50 yard touchdown outrunning their defense

The beauty of modern day analytics is we can easily gauge how fast a player like Jeanty is on the field. He has legit speed.

I hope you are right. But I think most of the teams ahead of us could take McMillan.
Going through them I really done see it. Maybe the Raiders, but that seems questionable with Bowers being their “alpha” receiving threat and Jakobi Meyers being a decent number 2 option. They have way bigger needs than WR.

He fumbled 4 times this season, 5 times last season. Ball security is one of the few consistent knocks on him. And again, I want to re-iterate, he's playing against Mountain West defenses.

It's not worth discussing with some of these guys. Dudes on here actually think he's not fast or strong. They have some really weird takes to discount that man's talent.

2 going into that game. You are really on your high horse trying to discount and marginalize that man's talent.
