Would love to see Rizzi get more wins, but we need highest slot in the draft we can get. (7 Viewers)

I don't understand this logic. The only way this makes sense is if you actually believe we are a playoff caliber roster we just need the right coach.

I couldn't disagree more.

This roster needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. We need our Matt Pratica to tank and recoup high draft picks before we look for our Dan Campbell.

Who better than Rizzler?

Most teams looking for HC’s aren’t playoff caliber. I promise you the Lions didn’t hire Patricia thinking he was going to be bad.

I agree and yet most drafts don’t have 32 players w/ 1st round grades. 2-3 slots in the draft could be the difference between an option to pick a player with an early 1st grade or a middle or late 1st or 2nd round grade.

The reason we traded up for Davenport that year was he was #15 of the #15 players w/ a first round grade. Everyone's else had a 2nd round grades.
Green Bay got two number ones from us, and drafted an All Pro cornerback, which we could have done, if we knew who to pick

Touché. I think we got caught drafting for need. Rumor is following the loss to the Vikings Payton was sure it was because they didn’t have enough pass-rush talent. So, they made DE a premium.

Looking back it was just a bad call by Allen.

I think Rattler having 3 great games helps the organization more than having 5 or 6 picks higher in the draft.
Rattler and younger players showing they can preform will make New Orleans and much more desirable organization to a HC candidate.

One of my favorite posters over the years.

Having said that, same.

I’d like to see a complete overhaul of the FO and coaching staff, including Loomis. I also realize this won’t happen.

I understand the take, but different isn't always better. How many GMs in the league have a championship? Not many. The odds of doing worse is actually much greater than doing better than Loomis.

Belichick, as a GM, won 6 times as many championships as Loomis.

It was time for the Pats to turn the page.

Time comes for everyone. Even Belichick. It’s that time for Loomis.

Let me preface this post with I don't want ML making the decision on the next HC, I hope he will be taken out of that process.....

That said, I like what Rizzi has done, I think a lot of folks have impossible expectations for this team.....to me, the effort has been there and is more important to me than actual wins at this point, because we ain't making the playoffs.....

What I've seen so far is not enough to anoint Rizzi the HC going forward, but it also hasn't kept him out of the conversation, maybe that changes over the next few weeks.....My first choice would be Joe Brady though.....

Rizzi talk notwithstanding
No to tanking
Unless someone produces some incredibly convincing evidence, I’ll never believe that the difference between pick 6 and 12 is worth convincing an entire team and staff to put their future signings on the line for that one draft pick

Yeah, "tanking" is just a buzzword for fans. Players and coaches aren't promised a tomorrow. They're gonna bust their ***** to win, and what's gonna happen is gonna happen. We'll deal with whatever comes next.

Outside of the coach talk, the truth hurts. Blow it up and bring someone new from the outside. That said, I don't expect any significant changes. That's Loomis' specialty: rinse and repeat. Keep Rizzi and give the fans the same old speak, I have absolutely no faith in Loomis.

Remind me how many times the Pats have been to the playoffs since then? Are they really better off? Because it sure seems like they suck to me. I would rather not suck.

How many times since then? They are in year 1 of a rebuild, so it’s difficult to judge right now. They were 4-13 the year prior with Belichick. At least they identified the time and are trying to rebuild it. They had a losing record 3 of the 4 years prior. Most people agree it was time for Belichick to move on.

I don’t see the issue with saying Loomis had a nice long run of success, but also saying it’s time to move on. He hasnt done much right the last 5 years.

I fully expect him to be around as long as the pope. But it doesn’t mean we don’t need a new direction.

Right now, we aren’t good. It doesn’t look good moving forward. We haven’t been to the playoffs in 4 years playing in the worst division in football. We’ve changed everything except the GM. Seems time to do that. Even if Loomis stays around. Let someone else be the GM.
