A little trivia for the house:
Lamar Jackson signed his deal in 2023 for an average of $52M/yr. Going into 2025, where does that rank among NFL QBs average annual compensation?
Top three? Top five? Top ten? Or out of the top ten?
LINK - scroll down to where it reads "See, Jackson currently ranks XXX among QBs ..."
Not for long. Jackson counts for over $74 million against the Ravens' cap in both 2026 AND 2027 (where's Nick Wright?). Jackson's got another extension and payday coming very soon.They are going to pay Purdy more than Lamar Jackson ...

You guys know how this goes, though? Remember when $20M/yr was crazy money? Wasn't that long ago.
So what do you think is so exceptional about Purdy?ill take that. I’ll be better for much longer than you
But they aren't gutting that offense - they've mostly let a few very good defensive players coming up for their second contracts go. They're obviously working on the basis that they can replace them.The problem is that I don't think Purdy counts as finding your QB and $55 million AAV per year is a lot of money to pay for a guy that is not your QB. I think they won with him because his cheap contract allowed them to pay guys like Deebo and McCaffery. But, you can't really do those things if you are paying Purdy $55 million AAV.
And, if you are tearing the team apart and let Purdy go, they are likely to pick high next year so they can draft a young QB. I'd feel different if they were keeping there other players to go for it with Purdy, but that's not what they are doing.
Except Flacco had a cannon.If you can’t put up good numbers unless you have Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel all healthy, then you’re not elite.
Purdy = Joe Flacco
Neither is Carr.He is absolutely not worth that money
The irony of Saints fan saying this is too much.If and when SF makes this move, it will cement their place in the realm of irrelevancy for quite some time.
Purdy is just not that dude.
