Sitting at a long table early this month in a room filled with about 15 New Orleans Saints player personnel executives, the moment of truth had arrived for Tommy Reamon Jr.

He had reached one of the final phases of the interview process for a position as a pro scouting assistant with the Saints. Now, with Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant GM Jeff Ireland staring intently at Reamon Jr., he was asked to provide an evaluation of a defensive end who had captured the Saints’ attention.

Calling upon all he’d learned in his long road to that opportunity, Reamon Jr. nailed it.

“At the end of my evaluation, I just noted he reminded me of Tremaine Edmunds, who was a first-round pick,” said Reamon Jr., who knew a thing or two about Edmunds after coming to the interview fresh off spending a season as a volunteer assistant at Edmunds’ alma mater, Virginia Tech. “This (player the Saints were evaluating) is a junior now, but they were high on him. So, when I said that about Edmunds in comparison to this player, everybody threw their arms up and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got to go get this guy.’ They put a level of respect on my evaluation skills.”

After the first round was complete, teams around the league still needed to do more work and make some great picks on day 2 of the NFL Draft. Although some teams succeeded with this, other teams did not.

When looking at the teams who may have had questionable picks in the first round, the Miami Dolphins was on that list. I nearly put them on the loser's section for Day 1 but decided not to because if they would have gone offensive line or cornerback at 13, which they desperately need, it would have been a reach. Still, going into day 2, the Dolphins only had 1 selection and need to...

It seems like forever ago, and in a lot of ways it was, but it was 2.5 years ago that the New Orleans Saints traded defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson. That trade finalizes during the 2025 NFL Draft, believe it or not, so we can finally wrap a bow on it.

The draft orders for all of those picks were eventually decided, so here are where they all settled:

New Orleans included the 2023 fifth-round pick to the Chicago Bears as part of a package to move up and select guard Nick Saldiveri. Saldiveri has struggled to find playing time, logging just 362 offensive snaps through his first two...

Throughout time, NFL teams have made massive mistakes or impeccable moves throughout the draft, but this matters the most in the first round, and this year was no different.

Trading up is always a risk in the NFL Draft, especially when giving up a future first to make it happen, but this is a different scenario. The Jacksonville Jaguars had an opportunity lined up to give up their first this year (#5), a second (#36), a fourth (#126), and a 2026 first rounder for the Cleveland Browns’ first (#2), a fourth (#104), and a sixth (#200). The reason the Jags made this trade was to select star...
