Curtis Johnson has seen what Cameron Meredith can be.

The body of a red-zone weapon, the nimble feet of the short, quick players that populate the slot for many teams.

When all systems are fully operational, Meredith presents a diverse array of problems for defensive backs, as he did in his breakout 2016 season in Chicago, when Johnson was Meredith's position coach.

"One thing about him, he's versatile, a very smart guy, plays a lot of different positions," Johnson said. "For a tall guy, he can really get in and out of a break. He's fast, but he can really cut; he can stop and start."

The New Orleans Saints’ 2025 NFL Draft felt more about raising the team's floor, not the ceiling. This is the first step of a rebuild, and the Saints accomplished that this year. Still, it is always fun to see some grades the Saints got and use them in the future as a reference for the draft class, and today, it is time to look at PFSN’s 2025 Saints draft grades.

Round 1 (#9) Kelvin Banks Jr: B-

Round 2 (#40) Tyler Shough: B

The New Orleans Saints stayed disciplined in round one of the 2025 NFL Draft and selected tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. from Texas. While not an exciting pick, the 6-foot-5 tackle will immediately make an impact as a starter.

The Saints drafted tackle Taliese Fuaga with their first-round pick in 2024 and double-dipped on the offensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft to anchor their trenches. If Banks starts, New Orleans will have four first rounder and one second rounder on their starting offensive line.

While the orientation of the Saints' offensive line hasn't been decided/revealed yet, Banks'...

The New Orleans Saints entered the draft with a whole lot of needs and a healthy number of picks. We thought there was a good chance Mickey Loomis would move up and waste some of those picks, but even he recognized they had more needs than in years past and stayed put for every one of his nine selections. Overall, it wasn’t a super exciting draft class, but it was a good and very necessary one.

Here are my grades for each pick:

I came into this draft wanting one of two things to happen: draft Ashton Jeanty or grab one of the top offensive tackles. They were able to accomplish that...
