Dumbest traditions or rules in sports (1 Viewer)

No golf carts in PGA because the players are "athletes" because they walk the course dagnabbit. Well if it is all about being an athlete than why don't they have to carry their own clubs?

Not that I want to see a bunch of carts out there, I was just thinking back several years ago when a handicapped player wanted an exception to the rule so he could compete.

Lots of good research as to why walking the course is better. It's better for the course. Faster if you're playing with a group, or at least not a big enough difference to matter. It's better for your game as your legs stay warm instead of sitting and cooling, standing and warming, cooling again, etc.. Plus the walk up to your ball is better for the mental game as it gives you more time/better visuals to contemplate your next shot.

I'm a horrible golfer though so walking doesn't help me for shirt.

I really cannot get over why a fat 80 year old baseball coach has to get dressed in a full baseball uniform.
I actually like this one. Everyone else on the team wears the same uniform, why not the coach?
I also liked when NFL coaches wore suits.

Plus, in baseball the manager, at times, actually goes out on to the field - he's not relegated to the sideline by rule like every other sport. If you're on the field, you wear the uniform.

(I guess, I dunno - seems reasonable).

In baseball....

If you have too big a lead in baseball, you can't steal.

If you have too big a lead in baseball, you can't work the count.

You can't look in from the bullpen, or second base, to try to steal pitching signals.

You can't bunt to break up a no-hitter.

You can't talk about a no-hitter.

You can't walk in front of the catcher.

Don't celebrate too much.

If the other team throws at your player, you must retaliate.

If there is a beef on the field, the dugouts must empty.
Pitchers can't catch popups. I actually have seen them do it twice this season, but it's still rare.

Suits when the weather is freezing cold & they get frost bite on their face???!!!

It is funny to me that the hoodie with the arm sleeves cut off, stands out there on the sidelines looking like a homeless person ?

When the TV cameras are focused in, & players are rearranging their junk, for the whole world to see. Geez......give the players some privacy & let them yank & pull without the cameras on their privates.

Jeter was the worst. He always had his hand on his crotch in some nervous gesture, I guess.

Im OK with NBA high fives after foul shots when the shooter make the shot.
It just seems odd, more than wrong, to give a guy 4 high fives when he misses

I am an NBA junkie.....and I can't stand the celebration after a made foul shot, much less a missed one. For crissakes just do you job sometimes.

I am fine with tat sleeves and hairdos and thunderous scream dunks and all the new style.

Just stop celebrating made free throws.

Haha then why not put sean payton and jon gruden in shoulder pads then. I don't think the baseball coach will be sliding into home plate... no need to see his 300 pound butt in baseball pants

300 pound butt in baseball pants......cracks me up ???

I've never been a fan of the offense kneeling down at the end of the game, especially if they are only up by a touchdown or less

Anything could happen, bad snap, fumble

The game is 60 minutes long not 58

Run a play
