Then post accurate info without political commentary. That's all I can say.

We are not debating the 2nd amendment here, or the merits of prayer in school.. People’s lives are literally in the balance, as are their loved ones, and their livelihoods RIGHT NOW... I haven’t had a family member diagnosed yet, that i know of.. but my livelihood is hanging in the balance, as we speak.

i’ll say the exact same thing i said about Katrina when Dubya (who i dont have a problem with anymore) was in charge.. i wasnt on SR then , but i always said ‘It starts at the top’.. the person at the top sets the tone... And when lies and ignorance are coming from the top, and from his enablers i.e. Voters- how are you suppose to set the record straight without “getting political!”??

Ward, i realize you’re trying to do a job here, as moderator.. But c’mon, we’re waaaayy beyond the point of ‘political’ vs ‘non-political’... That ship sailed with this administration ignoring the threat, then trying to downplay the threat, then reacting too late- and even still, worrying more about himself, er, themselves aNd the upcoming election, instead of how to get ahead of this virus (to the extent that’s even possible.)

The moderators here do a great job, but enough with trying to police politics in a time when there is only facts vs lies, and not much else matters.
They key word was "too". You may want to re-read what I posted, and then you'll realize you just threw up a straw man.

I've said this like 5 times here that we'll never sanitize it. Just be careful how far down the rabbit hole you go.

‘There is a political site to address that’? Dude, we shouldn’t have to go to the MAP just to get accurate information.. that’s what were talking about here, accurate information. Vs misinformation and bold-faced lies... Full Stop.

;)

You know what’s worse than political posts on this thread? Posts about political posts.

Back to the topic, I'm still sticking with my predicted theory that we won't see a slow down in cases until either this weekend, or next Monday the 30th. At the best. That damage was already done.

Does this mean I can have my vacation in April then?

For New Orleans or the USA? New Orleans I'll agree.

USA, now so sure about that. We're going to have a really long curve.

Any militarization on or near the Canadian border would be a stark departure from traditional relations between the two countries as the Canadian-US border has traditionally been recognized as one of the longest non-militarized borders in the world.

it would be weird and this move, imo, is way unnecessary

1000 at Canada and 540 at Mexico:

On Thursday afternoon, the American magazine The Nation published a report citing a leaked memo from the Department of Homeland Security that said Customers and Border Protection made the request for 1,000 troops to support it at the Canadian border and another 540 at the border with Mexico.

and "use of force" as necessary? huh?????
That report also said the memo was vague on how or if those troops could use force, saying that “use of force will be informed by the circumstances of their missions.”

also, more people cross into Canada from the US than vice versa:
Nearly 20,000 people crossed into Canada from the US in 2018, according to official government statistics. US Border Patrol statistics show they apprehended 4,316 people crossing from Canada to the United States in 2018.

the whole thing strikes me as.... just odd
