Places you refuse to eat? (1 Viewer)

It's been over 25 years since I ate at a Taco Bell. The day I saw them delivering "grade D" meat in the back of the restaurant was the last time I ate a nachos bellgrande. I had consumed quite the number prior to that revelation.

If that was in the 1990s, imagine how bad the meat is now, with the devolvment of fast food for corporate profits... I haven’t eaten at one in probably 15 yrs, i just remember the nasty containers you could see that held the refried beans and cheese, and that was just what you could see from the front counter.

IIRC the grade D meat was a result of legislation ultimately signed into law by George H. W. Bush...

Taco Bell is easily #2 behind Popeyes for me. It’s a wonderful place. I don’t care what grade the meat is. It’s the corrupt deep state FDA anyway. I will make myself sick on Taco Bell and it’s never not worth it.

what a delight. It’s the Dr Pepper of fast food. It’s the Fruity Pebbles of fast food. It’s the Little Debbie Nutty Bars of fast food. It’s the Hot Tamales of fast food. It’s the Zapp’s Crawtators of fast food. It’s the Blue Bell Cookies and Cream of fast food. It’s the McDonalds French fries of fast food. It’s the Snickers bar of fast food. It’s the Oreo cookie of fast food. It’s the DQ Blizzard of fast food. It’s the Elmers Heavenly Hash at Easter of fast food. It’s the Movie Theater Popcorn with Triple Butter of fast food. It’s the fried dill pickles of fast food.

it is legend

Respect the game

It has to be desperation for me to eat in a chain restaurant unless it's a local chain. I figure that if someone opens a second or third place, it must have something going for it. On a hot summer day, a frappe at McDonalds or a frosty at Wendy's, however, are real possibilities.

I never was into the Nachos Bellgrande for some reason.. dont think i ever even tried it.. as a kid working on construction sites (and i mean literally a kid, i was 9, 10, 11 years old), the absolute highlight of the day was lunchtime when we’d walk over to Taco Bell and my go-to was the Mexican Pizza.. that was when they were a brand new offering, and I’d get one every single day.. then when i got older and experimented with vegetarianism, I’d get about half a dozen bean & cheese burritos, you know, becuase they were ‘healthy’... later, i loved the Meximelt and the double decker taco thing with the hard shell AND the soft shell... i wish i could unsee and unknow the gross things about Taco Bell that keep me from going there anymore.. on second thought, it’s probably good that i dropped my Taco Bell habit; I’m horrible at moderation, and though the years i probably ate Taco Bell at least twice per week.

when i crave it i always sub the "meat" for extra beans.

Never been to Atomic Burger, but if you go to Mooyah and get all the good toppings, it’s one of the better burgers in NOLA i think.

I'm going to guess this is why you don't think Company Burger is good. You probably really like a lot of toppings on a burger. The thing I like about Company Burger is they use really good meat and you choose what toppings you want. I also like not having to take lettuce and tomato off the burger. IMO both of them are bland and just take away from the taste of the meat.

But, I do agree that Company Burger is overly expensive.

So I guess this is the admit you like fast food/chain restaurants thread?

I’ll admit fast food is delicious. But it’s garbage so I don’t eat it. Exceptions for Popeyes bought in bulk for an event and occasionally subway while traveling.

Popeyes, Subway, and Chick-Fil-A are mostly the only fast food I ever eat and I only eat Subway and Chick-Fil-A if I am traveling for work and can't find any better options. I also occasionally eat Arby's Roast Beef in the same situation, but avoid the rest of the menu.

And, as much as I love Popeyes, I almost never have it because I feel terrible for several days after eating it. Of course, the same is true of Subway, Chick-Fil-A, and Arby's, but sometimes you just have to eat something.

I agree...I remember some steak sub that they had that was killer but I can't seem to remember what it consisted of....besides steak, of course.

They had some steak sub that had some kind of sauce on it that way really good. The toasted bread was nice too.

A good tomato is awesome on a burger, but they are pretty much impossible to find (I hear there are good ones in New Jersey).

And if you think creoles are good, you've bought into the hype train.

I will literally eat at any of these places y’all are mentioning, and enjoy it, except KFC.

I’m starting to feel a cycle of self-loathing coming on. Better stave it off with a bowl of any one of 25 cereals advertised to children that I also love beyond reason and explanation. And sense.

I'm certainly not above eating a bowl of Froot Loops on occasion.

I just don't recall the last time I tasted a good tomato. They just tend to be watery and bland which I think takes away from the taste of the burger. Several good pickle slices are a much better compliment to the taste of the meat IMO.

Now, no where cause I Got used to pickup during quarantine. And I don’t like people enough to be around them in restaurants.
Like tonight my buddy wants to go watch the UFC fight at twin peaks. I’m out, I’d rather spend $65 and order it at home than go get dressed and pay for overpriced
Microwaveable food.

chic-fil-a or nothing off of your list.

subway reuses all ingredients sitting there, under a glass case. they rarely refrigerate half (lol if lucky) of the ingredients for next day.

i've known two former workers and the stories are horrific. meat and anything that won't brown, is left out.
