Saints are 1st place in the NFC South thru 9 weeks after Saints Won + Falcons/Bucs losses (1 Viewer)

Yes, the standings say we're in first place, but our opponents in our wins are 12-31.

I'm seriously not trying to be negative, but things need to be level set. NFC South division championships are worth nothing. All this does is give us a one and done playoff spot and a worse draft pick. And maybe saves DA and Carmichael's jobs.
Practically every team’s wins are going to be mostly against teams that aren’t very good. I looked at the Dolphins earlier today, their wins are against teams that have combined to go 13-33, but everyone wants Mike McDaniel in the building tomorrow if it’s an option.

I detest unreasonable negativity after wins. Especially the killjoy element, as does our target audience. There is entirely too much of that going on, and it is killing the atmosphere here.

That being said, Allen made some absolutely poor decisions, no doubt.

Just be real careful about jumping into any celebratory/positive threads and raining on the parade or giving celebrants your self-obligatory reality checks, because it could mean a trip to banned camp.
Thank you for that!

I disagree that the NFC South Division Championship (much less any Division Championship) is "worth nothing." I doubt that you would say that to any player on a Division Championship team.

Please don't disrespect the hard work that goes into winning a Division Championship by summarily dismissing it simply to prove your opinion; which, by the way, is pure conjecture and speculation at this point in the season.

His name is Sean Payton. DA ain’t the first coach to do that and he won’t be the last. A lot of you are dragging that decision b/c of the person who made it and not based upon the personnel on the field. DA trusted his “elite D“ would hold up on a 3&12. He also likely was aware that his opponent had nothing to lose and would probably go for a 4&2, since the Bears QB had been running everywhere. Plus our defense had given up 4th downs in different games this year.

DA had faith in his defensive unit just like Sean used to have faith in his offensive unit to convert on 4&shorts. Don’t forget that our defense did actually keep the Bears from converting on a 3&12 a few series later. It resulted in a missed field goal. DA made the right call. The players didn’t execute the call right.

I swear this forum is happier after losses to prove themselves right than they are for our boys to win games.

I’m a relatively spoiled fan, only been watching since the 2000s and even I know you take the wins when you can and enjoy the moments while you have them.

I too felt Allen lost focus as a HC in the second half as he was focusing on D but a win is a win and the defence played REAL strong in the second half.

Don’t look nod we are on a 2 game winning streak.

Let’s enjoy it a bit

Fans want DA to lose more than the team to win, it's pathetic and sad.

Too many of you aren’t living in the now and just want to bypass the rest of the year and hope da gets fired. Like I don’t understand this thinking. We wait all year for these 4 month and now yall want to just say screw it let’s go to next year…then next year comes and yall will say the same sheet. Ahit happens in life and your not even guaranteed to see tomorrow (had a lot of loss of life around me this last year or 2) so I for one am enjoying this season and life in general…even if it has ups and downs because nothing in life is guaranteed and yall all sound like spoiled little children because we don’t have drew brees and Sean Payton anymore.

It’s exhausting and pathetic. Yes we know the team isn’t perfect but we are still 5-4 look around the damn nfl right now and they have legit Super Bowl contenders with 3-5 losses on there record. Too much bickering and griping for my liking. Like they’ve improved so much and still isn’t good enough for some. The oline is pass blocking now, we are scoring more then 17points, we are using taysom hill in every aspect as we can, redzone offense has gotten better…etc…

Are fans not allowed to be concerned when we have a head coach who shows that he consistently is unable to make fundamentally easy in-game coaching decisions?

Taking 3rd and 12 over 4th and 2 is an absolute crime and pretty much unheard of.

Punting instead of a 58 yard FG attempt when Grupe had just grooved a 55 yarder is puzzling. We're in a dome with a strong legged kicker. On the 39 yard line, 4th and 4. Either go for it, or kick the FG. This isn't 1980. Teams don't punt from the 39 yardline.

Not going up 10 with 6-7 minutes left to essentially ice the game?

Yeah. We have a coach who isn't capable of making elementary level decisions. I think it's okay to point that out.
I agree and even if we have evenly matched talent with the 4 best NFC teams, we will have trouble beating any of them in a playoff game because we will be out coached. DA is horrible at situational football. Your statement is a prime example of it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Sure! That's our season. Beating the Tyson Bagent led Bears.

Show me a successful head coach who declines 4th and 2 in favor of 3rd and 12. It just doesn't happen. It's just not even close to being a good football decision. It's honestly terrible.
You keep bringing this up as if the decision was absurd. Hardly. We were playing a team with nothing to lose and was very likely to go for it on fourth down. With third and 12, the odds are in favor of creating a longer than fourth and two. Our supposedly stout defense failed.

There are many things I can question about DA’s coaching, but that decision wasn’t one of them.

I’m in the camp of happy we won, but I was hoping to see we genuinely turned a corner. I don’t think we have and, yeah, I think our coaching is holding us back.

It is. And the thing that gets me is if we were to start losing(God forbid) they’d be complaining how we wasted the careers of AK, Cam, MT, DD by not going all out to win. Way too many fickle, overly emotional people in this fanbase right now. I will never poo poo a win at this level. I want us to collect W’s by any legal means.

Fans who thrive in cynicism and negativity really make my head spin. Every year a team makes it into the playoffs despite not being very dominant in the regular season. Nothing wrong for that team being us? Once you’re in the playoffs, it’s anyone’s championship to snatch. I’ll never not root for us to win, whether we win ugly or pretty. Just get into the dance.
