Same here. It's simply incredible. I will never get tired of watching this video. I wish there were more (at least blind trying it like Chad)Most people don't understand how amazing this was. Every other drummer that comes on to their show needs to listen to a song(without drums), they take notes, make passes here and there then give it a stab.
Chad smith listens to the music for about 30 seconds(pun intended) and just rips right into it sounding like the actual drummer for the band. I have probably watched this at least 20 times now.

Was the only one to do what?Yeah I looked too. Chad was the only one to do it that way. It's funny, some haters out there were trying to say it was fake, but that quickly got quashed because they didnt watch the full video to see where one of his sticks broke while playing and he grabbed another on the base drum and during that moment you hear the snare go quiet.

So, not really a fan of the band tool, but definitely recognize how difficult the drumming is, by the struggle of this hall of fame Jazz drummer.
Guy Gelso from Zebra,
Ray’s toupee will forever live in infamy.I was fortunate enough to take drum lessons from one for the best teachers in the city when I was in high school and college, Ray Fransen. There was a surprise celebration for the 40th anniversary of his drum shop in Kenner at South Port Hall. These are all drummers that had a relationship with Ray, whether it was as a student or business association. There's a few notable drummers that attended, Guy Gelso from Zebra, Stanton Moore from Galatic, and Johnny Vidacovich, famous NO drummer who plays with Astral Project. I'm the fourth guy from the left, Ray is in the middle.
