N/S Why has it taken so long for Caleb Williams to be exposed as a Bust? Smells like the Jets Zac Wilson. (3 Viewers)

Daniels and Maye are way better prospects than Williams. I understand, that no team is going to pass on Williams if the Bears don't take him. He is the kind of bust that really sinks a team.

Because he will fail because of his poor emotional development, not athletic ability. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to crown him, but he is just so avg. at times. I wouldn't want him at all in the 1st rd. He really reminds me of Zac Wilson of the Jets. I'm not very good at picking the next great QB, Purdy, Storud etc. They were never on my radar. But, I can spot a high 1st rd bust a mile away.

If you disagree, I invite your reply, and reasons why.

Teams aren’t going to pass on him because there are not many guys in the world with his kind of arm and athleticism. It could be 3-4 more years before someone like him comes along again, so if you don’t have a qb, you have to take a chance on him.

I’m not a huge fan, but i don’t see the Zach Wilson comparison at all. I think if Williams is put in the right situation he can succeed.

He's not a bust yet. He'll be picked #1 by someone, if not the bears. I don't think he'll succeed but we haven't even gotten to the combine yet. How can he already be a bust?

Don't clown, tell me why you think I am wrong. They said the same thing about Zac Wilson, I said he was a bust the same day he was drafted.
You’re not right or wrong. You’re just way too early. The guy hasn't even played a down in th NFL.

I'm not speaking for the OP but some of these players it's a case of over hyped. IMO. I tend to believe that in some cases, the agent machine is kicking in and trying to "sell" the player because of how the rookie salary is driven by draft order.

I get the red flags every time he opens his mouth, but he hasn't proved anything professionally yet.

The guy could come out and be the next Cam Newton and people will put up with his outrageous comments / request

Or

He could become the next Carson Wentz, Robert Griffin, Matt Leinart, Josh Rosen -- nobody will know until 2/3 years from now. Is it worth the gamble? For the saints, I'd say we have several much bigger issues than QB.

He’s got Ryan Leaf written all over him. I think it’s probably pretty hard for reporters to talk about young players that way though. But any GM that is completely overlooking his fragile ego and immaturity because of his athletic talent is going to regret it. Daniels and Maye are far safer choices, imo.
