N/S Why has it taken so long for Caleb Williams to be exposed as a Bust? Smells like the Jets Zac Wilson. (2 Viewers)

We shouldn’t be so quick to give a possible “bust” label to a player before they actually play a down of football.
Conventional wisdom DOES indeed say that he would be a bust with the Bears (assuming they select him) bc they have never got a QB and made him into something good/great.
That also DOES NOT mean that they can never accomplish getting a talent and build that player up to a certain status.
Caleb has all of the tools and it will come down to a lot of factors, whether or not he will be a player for whatever team.

I said he will be a bust for the team that drafts him. I do thank you for replying, and not just lazily facepalm my post.
That post does not really deserve anything but a facepalm. It is another one of these pure speculation posts that you can come back to and say "I told you so" if he does bust out. If he does not, you just ignore and move on. I think the NFL scouts whose jobs depend on it have a higher view of him than you who may have watched a handful of games on TV and not really studied his tape or interviewed his coaches.

Daniels and Maye are way better prospects than Williams. I understand, that no team is going to pass on Williams if the Bears don't take him. He is the kind of bust that really sinks a team.

Because he will fail because of his poor emotional development, not athletic ability. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to crown him, but he is just so avg. at times. I wouldn't want him at all in the 1st rd. He really reminds me of Zac Wilson of the Jets. I'm not very good at picking the next great QB, Purdy, Storud etc. They were never on my radar. But, I can spot a high 1st rd bust a mile away.

If you disagree, I invite your reply, and reasons why.

I disagree with this statement unless you know the kid personally. I feel that your personal opinion on his character is more hope he fails rather then any substance as why he is or isn't going to fail. He's 23 kid who plays football, throws a ball far, he runs, etc. if he does that on the field he will be good. I don't understand when the need of being this "emotional developed citizen" has to do with throwing a football. There are alot of great Football players that seem a little emotional unstable.

Wow, he may turn into a bust but he's not a one year wonder. Sounds like hate to me.
