I hope it's nothing too serious and that he'll be ok, but I don't need to see more of Carr this year.

For the people not liking this post, look at his injury history over the last two years. He's had the crap beat out of him and now he has a broken hand and possibly his 3rd concussion in two years. We don't need to see more of him this year.

I feel some Saints fans are too hard on Derek Carr. Fact is, that dude gives his all on that field. He literally gave his body up trying to pick up a critical first down. At first I was just hoping that he just landed hard on the football but upon seeing the replay you knew it was something worse. Hope he's ok.

Carr has had a tough go of it with injuries. I was impressed with the effort he gave on that attempt at a first down. Carr is a QB that needs a supporting cast, and he hasn't had that minus the first 2 games. He isn't a Qb that will take over a game on his own (there aren't too many of those left) but he gives you all he can and today he paid for trying to go above and beyond.

The comments on the Gameday board were pretty bad but those aren't real fans. I support whoever is behind center whether it be Rattler or Haener, it doesn't matter. Hopefully Carr can return soon but his season may be finished, hopefully not but a broken wrist would pretty much seal it.

Some clowns on the gameday thread were saying he was stupid and reckless.... but if he had slid down to avoid the hit, and come up short of the marker, the same clowns would have been crying about him being a "coward" and "afraid".

Yup, those players that draw the ire of those "fans" will never get the benefit of the doubt no matter which course of action they took. We saw this on full display with Mark Ingram 2 years ago, almost to the day.

We're not criticizing Carr's effort or determination when we say it was a dumb, stupid call to make and our coaching staff made more then a few today. And they were persistently stubborn about it too, House.

And mediocre, ineffective gameplanning and awful decision-making are partly why we're a bad team this year, along with being almost cursed when it comes to injuries. Strange how that's been a constant problem the past 3-4 years. Bullshirt injuries too where you look up at the sky and ask God what we did to piss him off this badly.

I get that, but under the circumstances, Carr was just as aware as all of us how ineffective the offense was in the second half and was trying to give all of himself to secure a win.

Was it a smart decision, personally? No. But Carr did it for the team and the fans because he wanted the win.

The fans have repaid all of his sacrifices with criticism because they simply don’t like him and would rather the team be led by a guy like Jameis Winston who has led the Browns to exactly 1 win despite all his histrionics and enthusiasm.

Carr will never be liked by this fan base, no matter what he does and he doesn’t deserve that. He’s giving everything he has and has received nothing in return from the fans but criticism and calls for his removal.

It’s a shame.

He has also had terrible online play throughout his career. I grew up as a Raiders fan in the 70's and 80's. Started liking the Saints in the mid 80's. By the 90's they switched. Position's in my fandom. I have been all about the Saints and pull for the Raiders as long as their winning doesn't hurt the Saints chances of making the post season.

Maybe you'll disagree, but I think most fans know Carr busts his arse and plays so hard and diligently to try and win games. I'm not expecting Brees' and I know Carr has limitations but he has lead this team to one winning season despite having a moron for a HC, and an incompetent series of OC's.

We're also pissed that we have some pretty stubborn assistants making some questionable, aggravating calls that have hand-cuffed Carr's ceiling here and for a decade in Oakland, where he was a 3x Pro Bowl QB on some mediocre teams with not the best supporting casts. I see a very good QB who has over 40,000 career passing yards and wonder he's only had 3 winning seasons as an NFL starter. The Raiders franchise failed him for the most part, House.

Jake is definitely not the answer. I’d rather see Penning play QB. At least that would be funny. Spencer has the potential and talent to be a NFL Quarterback. I want to see him behind a healthy Oline for 4 games. That way I know if we have to draft one out of necessity

Merl, considering how hard, durable and how effective he could be for Oakland/Las Vegas for a decade, is it fair to say the Raiders organization and Mark Davis totally failed Carr in giving him consistently good supporting casts?

I think if you could put Jake’s brain into Spencer’s body then we’d have a QB.

Yeah, I don't know if Rattler is the answer but of the two I think he's the only one that really has a shot to be a quality NFL starter. I'd like to see him given a start now that we have the OL back and have some options in the passing game with MVS, Austin, and Means coming back. Not great weapons, but better than what he had to play with when he got those starts when Carr was hurt the first time. Then we will have a better idea how aggressive we need to be trying to find a QB.
