Raiders game should end Loomis' tenure as GM in the off season (1 Viewer)

This whole mess is on him now. The Saints the past two weeks have not fielded an NFL team. Not one person playing today other than a couple O line guys should be even starting a game
Who is him?

Well Loomis repeatedly obliged when many shouted "Make it Happen" .
People with more Salary Cap knowledge than me said it was all okay even though not many other teams appeared to be doing it.
Fast forward to now and ......
Well Loomis wasn’t obliging the fans, he was doing what SP and “he” wanted to do.

Not saying it’s automatically gonna happen, but I’ve lost count of how many franchises I thought were doomed for the next decade only to turn it around.

Yep. I get it that people are expressing doom and gloom, but virtually every team is a lucky draft, a nice free agent pickup or two, good health, and a good coach away from being good.

Bad teams in 2024 are never really THAT bad to where it is impossible to quickly get things turned around.

I really don’t see Loomis being fired. However, I can see Loomis given a new title and moved around to allow a younger guy with fresher ideas to step in.

Well two weeks ago it was hard to.make the case to can Loomis. But seeing the bottom end result these two weeks and what will happen next week makes this very much justified.

Or better analogy it's like someone using a lighter, can't yell fire until that person sets something on fire. Until then that person is just flicking a lighter

Nothing is different now than it was two weeks ago or during the 7 game losing steak for that matter. I don't really know what people expected to happen after they fired the HC mid-season. Teams don't suddenly become good when you do that and generally they look much worse.

People wanted this team to lose out to get a better draft pick and now every time they lose, people over react and lose their sheet.

The same people in this thread saying Loomis needs to go will be advocating for the Saints to continue drafting need in the draft instead of drafting the best player available. This is how you end up with a lack of talent on the team. Stop limiting the draft pool. Build talent in the draft, fill holes in free agency.
I don't think there are that many people that say that. There are a lot that say draft BPA at a position of need and right now that is literally all positions.

Yep. Coaching makes a huge difference and a few playmakers at key positions make all the difference. All teams are a good coach and a good draft away from competitive and a good coach and few drafts away from being contenders. You just have to get those things right.

It's the NFL, it is designed to keep teams close so that interest is kept high. There are really only ever 3 or 4 very good teams, 4 or 5 very bad teams, and then the rest are in the jumble in the middle that move up and down every year depending on health, the quality of the coaching, and the quality of the drafting.

I’d be fine with that….

Because now that DA is gone, all of a sudden people need a new problem to point the finger at, a new villain mascot for all our/their problems.

What if it turns out that (with DA for example) those people were right all along?

I mean, do you honestly think it is so unfair to point the finger at the GM of an about to be 5-12 team, after 2 seasons of disappointment? C’mon man….perhaps it was really the janitor all along that was the problem :)

Why is it on him now? Why isn't it on the coaching staff? Or, of you prefer, why wasn't it on him until now?
It's been on him for years. He made the situation what it is and he's out of excuses. The team has bad coaching, bad players, and no prospects to get better anytime soon. Instead of having a plan that can be articulated, he's said that the team has good talent and compared the coach, that he was forced by ownership to fire, to some of the best to ever coach.
