I guess people understand now why sooo many was against of keep trying to compete until it craters.

Loomis obviously has had a great career with the Saints. Especially working side by side with Brees and Payton. But since there departures, what concerns me about him is the blandness that he personifies. I could be totally off base here but, I don’t like the 9 to 5 vibes I get from him. The do just as little as I gotta do demeanor doesn’t make me feel like we’re heading in the right direction. Has he earned his annual extended sabbatical I’m pretty sure he’s taking soon after next weeks game? Anybody think he’s looking forward to his busy offseason at the office? You think he’s excited to be interviewing numerous young coaches, calling for and addressing news conferences. Is he truly excited about finding the next great Saints Head Coach to lead us for the next 10 years, or is he more focused on personal things like retirement? I guess my vision of an aggressive, “love my job” kinda GM like a John Lynch is asking too much. Hope I’m wrong about Loomis but, I doubt it.

This is the dark reality that people should always keep in mind relative to rebuilding. It’s really tough to field a competitive team and if mismanaged (which the Saints clearly have been the past few seasons) the losing can last decades.

This is a valid reason to want a new GM. It's not easy to rebuild. IF you think CSP was doing a lot of the GM decisionmaking that has since been taken on by Loomis, then going from the divisional round of the playoffs to maybe the worst team in the NFL in less than 3 seasons after CSP's departure is pretty damning in terms of a GM's results.
