The 2025 NFL Draft concludes today in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The New Orleans Saints are currently slated to pick at 112 & 131 in the fourth round, 184 in the sixth round, and 248 & 254 in the seventh round, but of course that could change depending on any more trades.

In the first round of the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected LT Kelvin Banks Jr. out of Texas. Going into Thursday, many believed the Saints would target a player who could upgrade their defensive or offensive line. The New Orleans Saints have selected Virginia safety Jonas Sanker with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot, 206 lbs. Charlottesville native was a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection and key piece of Virginia’s defense over the past two seasons. He led the Cavaliers in tackles in both 2023 and 2024, posting 107 and 98 stops respectively. Sankerat also recorded 8.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries in 2024. At the NFL Combine, he displayed strong athleticism with a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and a 36.5-inch vertical jump.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints strengthened their defense in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Texas defensive tackle Vernon Broughton at No. 71 and Virginia safety Jonas Sanker at No. 93.

Broughton, a 6-foot-5 senior from Houston, developed into a key player on Texas' defensive line. He was selected as the 3rd round draft pick. After starting 15 games in 2024, he recorded 39 tackles and 4 sacks, contributing significantly to the team’s defense alongside future NFL talent.
