They are slotted to pick at number 14 as of this moment and we will see if they stand pat, move ahead, or fall back with their first-round pick. It’s not often you see a team’s former general manager return to help out his successor, but that’s the unique position the New Orleans Saints took in preparing for the 2024 NFL draft. The New Orleans Saints have a lot of holes entering the 2024 NFL draft. When you look at the Saints’ roster, there are a lot of players who could step up to fill this void but not a lot of certainty. For example, if A.T. Perry steps up the Saints likely don’t need to draft a receiver. If Jordan Howden capitalizes on some nice flashes his rookie year, the Saints are set at safety. How many of these kinds of situations are you comfortable entering next season with?

The Saints won’t walk away from the draft with confidence in all of these position, of course, but they should at least look into trying to fill these positions early in their draft. The most obvious hole is at each of the offensive tackle positions, which is why New Orleans is most often connected to the top offensive tackles in the draft. The NFL Draft kicks off tonight with the first round, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday.
