Rosen is the best pure passer in the class IMO. But I think he matches Pat Shurmur perfectly. Wouldn’t expect him to make it passed the top 5.

The Saints own pick 91 in round 3... Do we expect 4 TEs to go in the top 90? If not, who is most likely to be there of the top 4 guys?

No, none of those guys will be available in the (late) 3rd. If Saints want one of them, they'll have to do it in the 1st or 2nd (like TruSaint said).

Plausible. But my gut is they'll go BPA in the 1st. If that's a TE, great. If not, I think they'll pull the trigger on one in the 4th or 5th - because there's some good talent there late.

I think Andrews might make it. Late 3rd makes it sound like and eternity, but 90 picks is not a ton for 4 TEs. I don’t expect any TEs to go in the top 25 or so. You’d think one would go 26-32 but it’s possible they don’t. Even still, I think one dips far enough to where NO doesn’t have to give up major picks in next year’s draft to move up the ladder. I really like those top 4. There’s some mid-round guys that have a lot of talent, like Jordan Thomas. But the top 4 are immediately contributing somewhere as pass catchers.

According to them, all those guys are gone before our pick in the 3rd.

I prefer Draft Analyst and they have Andrews going in the 3rd. He is the only one of the top four I see having a chance to be there. They actually have Andrews 5th, behind Ian Thomas.

Funny you mention Ian Thomas.

The reason that I shy away from Andrews (as you all know) is the same one as Gesicki & Goedert.... No (or unknown) inline blocking ability. I want someone that can open holes for Ingram & Kamara, but also help keep Drew upright in the pocket.

And in that role - I really like Ian Thomas. A lot.

Goedert because he's a small school prospect. I could see NO trading up into the late 2nd/early 3rd to secure a TE after missing on Graham

I'd be fine with that. We have 8 picks after all, which is probably too many to sign to the roster. Might as well package some picks and move up for the right guys.

Mark Andrews dropped in some ranking because of medical history.

Andrews has type 1 diabetes, which is controllable (if unpredictable) with proper diet and medication. NFL players such as quarterback Jay Cutler, defensive end Michael Sinclair, and others have played through this condition in the past. He has had multiple episodes where his blood sugar got too low and he became unresponsive.
