2023 offseason: WR Tet McMillan said its hard for him to watch film and doesn’t watch film by himself

It’s freshman season but it’s barely 2 years ago. The approach towards the football classroom doesn’t always instantly change that fast. College schemes are simplified for star skill players to steamroll through the college level without studying the game especially featured players. Pro level is a different ballgame. Hopefully his mindset towards film has matured since ‘23.

It may not be alarming to fans if they’re in love with his physical traits and want him on their team no matter what. His statements would be questionable to an NFL FO who have their season and jobs on the line off of determining if they want to invest a very high 1st round pick into him.
I genuinely think that with a player that is projected to go in the 1st and especially in the top half of the 1st, that teams have done extensive interviews with the player. And that some off the cuff -day in the life video buy who knows who did when that player was 19 would not carry any weight when it comes to drafting him

So you’re saying everything he said he made up?

Let’s say you’re 100% correct and he was just annoyed and being sarcastic, which I don’t believe but for the sake of the argument let’s go with that. Then he’s not very bright saying that in public when he’s about to get drafted and knowing how everything said/done is dissected by NFL teams.
The video was done when he was a freshman not like a week ago . He was 19 20

Tet was 20 years old during that clip. He’s 21 right now, turning 22 in a few weeks. The documentary was published on April 11, 2023, 1 week after his 20th birthday. Before the eating clip in the docu, he had the same tshirt on and stated that it was the offseason. So that clip of the film questions was the following spring after his freshman season. Saying film isn’t a priority months after the freshman season would be an eye opener.

I’d hope he gained more willingness to watch film in less than 2 years. But <2 years is a short time. Habits and effort doesn’t always drastically improve between 20 and 21 3/4 years old. He has question marks surrounding his route running skills and ability to break free off of press, which takes film study to improve that area against better DBs at the pro level. Otherwise he’ll always be relying on 50/50 catches which isn’t worth a top 10 pick to get a player with an iffy one dimensional skillset.

2 yrs is a pretty big deal for a just turned 20 yr old just finishing your Fr yr.
If he still has any issues not watching film don't you think it would have come to the surface from more sources and sooner?

I agree.

This is nonsense wrapped in insanity wrapped in schizophrenia.

Well then, why do we seem to be the only ones discussing it? The video has been around for nearly 2 years..

I haven't heard anything about his draft stock plummeting. Cleary, it seems teams feel pretty comfortable about him

There seems to be a lot of missing context here. But this is exactly what the interviews for. This seems like something that was put out there to purposely effect a kid’s draft. & for what it’s worth, a lot of players in the league arent exactly doing the math in the film room either. Kyler, Gronk & Tyreek are a few name brand guys who hate film study. I’d prefer the dude to be a student of the game, but if he’s going out there & producing, what can you say?
