2023 offseason: WR Tet McMillan said its hard for him to watch film and doesn’t watch film by himself

Even before hearing this, I was hoping that we steered clear of him. I think that he may be the 4th best WR. He is a great athlete that can make some crazy catches but he isn’t a polished route runner and has a limited route tree anyway. I'm hoping we wait until the 2nd round to get our WR.

You have a better comparison? Didnt BM have legitimate mental health issues?
He still does, he’s just outspoken about it. Tip of the cap to him for facing his demons and not only defeating them, but being an advocate for others.

So I chased down the video and what I got from it is a lot less concerning. This was after his freshman season where he was still very young and has yet to fully mature. I'm sure a lot has changed since.

It's really a nothing burger.

Thank you for posting. Video shouldve ended the thread.

Never seen this forum so negative about every player in the draft before. Guys, when you read the scouting profiles, read the cons first and finiah with the pros and read those twice.

2 years ago for a 21 year old in college isn't "barely", it's a long time ago.
Yeah, and id guess most college players other than some QBs dont watch much film on their own. Kids got too many things going on. Thats why the coaches get the player in a room together to watch tape. Heck, I doubt many pro players watch much tape on their own. Id bet thats actually rare outside of several positions.

So you’re saying everything he said he made up?
First, he didn't say exactly what some are saying he said.

Second, the way you're framing it is slanted. He could be sarcastic without "making things up."

Let’s say you’re 100% correct and he was just annoyed and being sarcastic, which I don’t believe but for the sake of the argument let’s go with that. Then he’s not very bright saying that in public when he’s about to get drafted and knowing how everything said/done is dissected by NFL teams.
This video clip is from 2 years ago. Your snap judgement above is based on assumptions you made that were based on factually inaccurate beliefs you have about when he actually said this.

And in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL draft the Seattle Seahawks select..

Tet McMillian WR Arlzona

.. LoL..

NW.

I'm concerned with his comments only if he is has diva like qualities, which I have not heard of before.

Otherwise you can teach someone on how to watch film and what they should be looking for.

No issues for me, too much talent, size and speed.
I work in academics, and I disagree. There are outliers but if you don’t have passion and work ethic by the time you leave college…I have zero interest in betting on an outlier.

It ultimately depends on who he is now versus when he made those statements. If it was while he was a freshman and there is objective evidence that his desire to be great and work ethic have improved…then I’d consider. But no way am I planning to teach those qualities to a 22 year old.

This is the most knee jerk reactive board sometimes my goodness
You got that right. I remember when fans didn't want JERRY RICE because he only ran 4.71. Well we all know how that turned out. Or T. Brady only being a 7th round pick. It's ridiculous how some people judge others. Who really knows; this kid may turn out to be SPECIAL. But of course we'll look for the SURE THING LIKE RICKY WILLIAMS.

I mean yea it's a bad look but maybe some of these takes are a little much. Wouldn't take him in the second? I meeeeean

To my knowledge he doesn't have a bad reputation with regards to work ethic, no off the field issues. If this is all we're going by, player thinks watching film sucks, maybe scratching him off as a potential pick at 9 is going a little too far.
Let me introduce you to Jamarcus Russell.
