And that’s what annoying. WWLTV and WDSU keep showing the info from NHC, then they show their own forecasts that show the eastern movement. They are too scared, IMO, to completely diss the National news. However, if you look at the actual eye it’s more to the east and would need completely N or NNW to get back to the original track. And I doubt that is gonna happen.

I agree that if you just watch the eye on their various animated maps, it looks like a beeline for New Orleans.

New meteorologist on WDSU now calling the various NE and N turns "wobbles". Seems to be writing off an "eye over NOLA" scenario. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah, I see the report. It just looks like all the high clouds died down over the past few hours. It didn't look like it was strengthening.

Chris Franklin on WWL said that the dry air caused a burst of energy in the eye wall and that is likely where the 100 MPH reading came from. He doesn't think the storm has really changed much.

The pressure quickly dropped from 976 to 972. That seems to have the Weather Channel experts perplexed since the eyewall is now over the marsh.
