Aaron Rodgers says Saints are their biggest threat (1 Viewer)

I respect him. He's undefeated this year, he's the Superbowl champ, and he's been playing lights out since week 1. Gotta respect that.

You are right about that. We have had some changes on our roster since that GB game, and so have they.

I give us a 40% chance of winning in GB should we face them in the playoffs. Its for that reason I hope SF wins out, and GB drops a game. I like our chances in 60 degree SF as opposed to 15 degree GB.

The Packers and Rogers learned everything they know about offense from the Saints (OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration but not much). I think Rogers has modeled his game by studying Brees and certainly the Packers offense has taken a number of lessons from the Saints offense (especially the very hard to defend "back-shoulder throw").

Rogers has uncanny accuracy in the short to intermediate ranges - as good or better than our own Drew Brees. However, Brees still has him beat on the deep throws where I think Brees is more accurate.

Green Bay, unfortunately, has a decided edge on defense over us at this point. Neither of us has a dominant D, but GB has the turnovers to make up for their lapses in play.

I think you're right, but 40% isn't bad odds. A 40% chance comes in 40% of the time and then we're in the Superbowl playing one of the AFC leaders who I've got no doubt we can beat.

I'm good with it.

If I am a Saints fan, I am a clost Lions fan as well, because the Lions are the only capable team left that pose a threat to the Packers (well maybe Chicago or NY but lets get real).

I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope the Lions leave the Packers black and blue.

NFC Championship game Packers Saints in Lambeau, Saints down by 4, 13 seconds left n the 4th quarter we go for it, fade to JG for the go ahead TD. The leg kicks it thru the uprights to end the game.

Can you guys feel this **** omg... SWEAT!

Who Dat!

Yeah... with them throwing as much as they do you'd think he'd have more, but he's just very careful with the ball, and to not have any tipped-pass INTs is just crazy.

how many does Drew have that went off someone's hands? I remember 2 for sure... Meach twice (TB and Jax).

Actually, 2 of his 3 interceptions were tipped balls off the hands of his receivers. Both were well-thrown balls that the receiver just muffed. Only 1 of his interceptions was because of a bad throw, the 1 to Urlacher. I've seen Brett Favre throw more interceptions in a single quarter than Rodgers has thrown so far this entire season.

But how man? Its crazy because I've never seen anything like it. How are those damn receivers always open?

Part of it is that they're good receivers, but there's more to it than that.

Coaching is a part of it - McCarthy has become a mad scientist at designing plays that create space for the receivers. And, when you have that many good receivers on the field, there's almost always going to be someone open, because you can't double everyone. You can double Jennings and Nelson, hope a safety or linebacker can pick up Driver in the slot, and put another safety on Jones, but then who's left to cover Finley? One of them is always going to be at least somewhat open.

But more than anything, I think it's just Rodgers. He makes guys open who'd be covered if anyone else was playing quarterback. How many times have you seen a DB have absolutely textbook coverage on a receiver, and Rodgers hits him anyway? He only needs a window the width of the ball, and no matter how well you're covering a man, there's always a spot where he can reach the ball but you can't. Rodgers just throws to that spot. That's it. That's how these guys are open. It's Rodgers more than it's them.

The throw I've seen Rodgers really abuse DBs with is on the curl route. It's like he's throwing at the ground. Absolutely un-defendable

Brady only threw 4 ints last year. It's just week 10 Rogers may still have a couple more in him this year (I wouldn't bet against him though).

Brady's was pretty impressive, but pretty much all his throws are short. AR is putting in the air.

Brady's average yards per attempt was 7.9, Rodgers is 9.7 so he is without a doubt killin it this year.

Brady threw 492 passes last year and only 4 were picked, with no legit deep threat people still couldn't get ints off of him even in a blizzard, hey to me that's impressive.

Rodgers has raised the bar and he's got the best WR group bar none so I'm with ya, we might see some serious records fall this year.
