All I Want for Christmas Contest 2024! (2 Viewers)

AND many thanks to my daughter, who, as we were headed back from getting some Christmas gifts, connected her phone to the car radio, suddenly turned it way up, and shouted along to this monstrosity through the entirety of its hideousness.
After having survived the last few Christmases, I guess I was due. Twerp that she is...

That wasn't enough: she followed it with the worst of all Christmas songs ever written: George Michael's awful "Last Christmas" played at the same volume and her yelling/singing along with it so I got to suffer even more after being assassinated...
Double tap ded.

I agreed to perform a duet with my daughter for her Christmas show. We did the David Bowie/Bing Crosby Peace on Earth. It was fine. But as part of that, I had to attend 2 rehearsals and 4 performances of children singing all those songs. Last Christmas, All I want for Christmas, I want a Hippopotamus, etc... a veritable Who's Who of trash Xmas songs sung shakily and offkey - 6 times. So I don't want to hear it.

I walk in the door from a relatively light day at work. Kiss my wife, son and daughter, get my usual welcome from the pup who acts like I’ve been gone for decades everyday (I love it), and go upstairs to get dressed for the gym. On my way up the stairs, my wife says, “Alexa, play holiday music.”
I saw my life flash before my eyes. The joy, the laughter, the tears, the highs and the lows. My first kiss with Catherine when I was 9. The day I got my driver’s license at 16. Meeting my wife. The birth of my children…. all as Mariah assassinated me on the stairs of my home. Gone. Kaput. Ded.

Sounds lovely

I emerged from my bunker to find the radio...is not working. My newly hired security forces offed Mariah's henchmen and it seems the radio is offline, so my counter-counter revolution was successful and I have once again assumed the position of tinpot dictator-for-life over the rehab gym radio.

Vive la revolution!!!

And that quickly it's been retaken. My no-account security forces fled when the henchmen returned. I must hire better-quality thugs. I will re-institute the press gangs. I have now fled to the hills where I will plot my next move.

I'm amazed I'm still not kilt.

edit: Oh god, I spoke too soon. My demise cannot be far off. I just heard Wham. That means the henchmen are on my trail. I am almost kilt, but not quite ded yet.
